It's funny that this thread started out by asking WTF is wrong with people and then we get a bunch of examples of just how good some people are. Good work on the Boxer save. I am looking forward to the time I have enough room to have another dog. Post pics as soon as you have some. Bill |

We're keeping the pup. I've always loved boxers, but never could afford one. This is a great oppotunity for the dog and myself. I get a boxer. She gets to live. It's a win win. I am, however, curious if she has anymore, would anyone here be interested? They are show dogs, but they are great family dogs. I was reading and they tend to be 18% of all born. The AKC does recognize them, but they can't be shown. |

Our pug is papered, but can't be shown. Her mask is wrong, she's too lanky and not square enough. That said, she's likely the most personable, and person-like, dog we've ever had. She runs the house, acts (and sometimes even *looks*) like a little person, and we love her to death. If any more come along, send me a PM. We'd be a tight lot at the moment, but the cabin we bought (with 44 acres) will hold 2 humans and 4 dogs with no problem, and we should (my construction "skills" being the determining factor) be up there within a year. |

I don't have a pet; I live with my ex-girlfriend's cat. How long can these things live anyway? |

amazing the lows people will stoop to cause they can't say "would you like to make it a meal" our one cat just passed away after over 18 years with us. at one point it was the greatest cat in the world. she was the alfa cat of the house and had first dibs on everything. she is missed. |

That lemonade robber kid just looked like a loser, at least he was dressed cool-gangsta style for his trip to jail. Dj- at least it's not a large parrot, you have to provide for those things in your will. To my dear friend Jim, I bequeath one loud ass, finger biting macaw parrot. He should live to be about 80, good luck. |

Good deal Thump. I'm glad you could give that dog a home. That poor pup had no clue what was coming. I have a soft spot for "dumped" animals. Must be why I have 3 dogs, 3 cats, 7 fish, turtle, rabbit, snake, and looking at adopting a ferret and my sister's lizard. Am I sick? |

Thumper, I don't agree what so ever with your Aunt putting the pup down because of undesirable markings but I do however agree with spay/nueter in the case of a dog that may produce more of its kind. To euthanize it would of costed your aunt. Thats if she was planning a humane way by bring to a Vet. My breeder of my dogs instead has them Spay/Nuetered instead and then places them. That way she has no paper's to goggle and someone gets a great pup for less then half what the normal price would be. Good breeders aren't in it for the money. They are in it for the love of the breed and to improve it if possible. Its in some ways a losing thing. I'm no longer a fan of AKC because of to many misregistered dogs. But congrats Boxers are a wonderful breed. |

Want a great "rescue" pet? Contact a Mink farm (Upper Midwest is full them) and ask about having a cull pup. Often they'll send them for shipping cost, and they make great pets- kinda like ferrets, but more vocal, aquatic, and more thought-out in their general madness. Also, American Alligators rock- "glades herp" (just google them) has hatchlings and Juvies for around $45- apiece. |

We don't talk about it in front of him, but our male Shiba Inu is a failed show dog. (temperment - he's skittish) We got him from the same breeder we got the female from, but essentially paid their gas to meet us half way. I think she lets him know he's a failure every once in a while. |

Most of my dogs have been rescues. Years ago I had a male cocker spaniel I name named Joe. He was 9 months old when I got him. The people I got him from were using him for a lawn ornament. When I picked him up, the dog didn’t even look back. Had that dog 11 years and he and I just understood each other. I cried like a baby when I had to have him put down and miss him to this day. Two of my last three dogs have been rescue dogs. A Brittany Spaniel that was the sweetest dog on the face of the earth. She wasn’t a cute puppy anymore so the people didn’t want to bother with her. I had her 11 years before she had a stroke and had to be put down. One of my two current dogs is Ranger. He’s is a Lab/Shepard/Collie/God knows what dog. I refer to him as my American All Bred. He and a litter mate were taken to the back of a park, and dumped from a moving car at 3 months of age. We took Ranger in and the park ranger took the other. Range and my boys grew up together and he’s been the best boys dog I’ve ever seen. Follows them around like a shadow and is Always ready for some little boy rough and tumble. Never played favorites either, Slept with both boys at night. When the time comes that I’ll need another dog, I’m thinking hard about getting a rescue Bull Mastiff. Very cool dogs with great personalities. Rescue dogs are always the best. |

"Rescue dogs are always the best" F*CKIN-A, Zane ...and stray cats that pick us, as opposed to us picking them, are the sh*t, esp. around a M/C shop. |

Thumper - keep me on the list for a white boxer pup. We've got a black with white boxer pup mix that's 9 months old. A wonderful dog (even if he does have too much energy - he tried to jump off the table himself after his neutering). I love boxers and would adore a white one. |
