Jackie and I are looking for a third bike... I have my Buell and she has the 83 KZ750. We're looking for a second bike that would be good for two up, long distance riding for larger people. Power isn't a concern along as we can pass a slow moving vehicle, size and comfort is. I'm not too crazy about Harleyesque bikes, as I would like something that handles better. I was checking out a ton of bikes and the Concourse 14 is a wicked bike that seems pretty reasonably priced... As are the Triumph Tigers... So many bikes, so little money... |

Oh mon Dieu!?! If you are looking at the Tiger, you HAVE to ride the new XT. Go demo.... We expect a full ride report. |

+100 on that. just went up to franklin for a memorial run yesterday and the xt performed great (outside of being outrode by an older guy on a roadking, names will not be mentioned) plus with the amount of storage you got with the bike it makes a great weekender also for rider and passenger.(took it down to myrtle beach last weekend for their bike week.) |

If you want to stick with the "American bike" thing... The big Harley (touring) bikes don't handle that badly. The weight pays off on trips... no wind and Mack trucks going the opposite way have zero effect Being able to move around a bit is nice for long trips. Alternate between highway pegs, footboards, and move your butt around a bit is invaluable for ten and twelve hour days. |

I have a friend who owns a Kawasaki Nomad and a Concours 14, and an 86 Concours. He rides the Nomad way more than the other bikes because he rides two up most of the time. He tells me the 14 is terrible for the passenger on two up. The Nomad is much better for that. I was surprised, but that is what he said. He said the 14 was sportbike like for the passenger, small seat, high footpegs. I have rented an ElectraGlide and done 600 miles two up in a day. The bike was very comfortable. I rode the XT at Daytona and it was very comfortable for me, but I did not have a passenger. The seat is huge though, so I bet it is pretty comfortable for a passenger. Or, you could always get a Gold Wing. |

I had an old Gold Wing and we loved it two-up. I road a softail deluxe (borrowed) to DC as part of a memorial ride and it worked great for a 300-mile ride at 80 mph. |
