Just called mine a little while ago - She's doing GREAT! - at 93!! Sometimes I wish I lived a bit closer (she's in south central Idaho) so we could see her more often! AL |

My mom had a rough week so we went to visit... 1.) Her work decided to reduce costs and went to a new imitation exacto blade that breaks at will and slices your thumb down to the bone and requires 4 stitches to take care of. 2.) After going to the ER and having it closed up, she went to the pharmacy and came home to find the 15 year old cockatiel dead. 3.) Noticed that the 21 year old cat had some swelling in her face. Since the cat was still active, eating and grooming well, she thought it was an abcess. It was a tumor and had spread into muscles, etc. Princess was put to sleep Wednesday. 4.) She decided to take Tiger (16 year old cat) to the vet for a check up since he'd been moving slow and she figured he might need some pain killers for arthritis... Tiger has stomach cancer and it's moving his stomach. The vet doesn't feel that Tiger would do well in surgery (age, vitals, half his weight from 4 years ago...)and is unsure how much longer he has (slowly starving). Tiger will be put to sleep this week sometime. Jackie and I found some old pictures of Tiger and made some paw prints this weekend on nice parchment paper. We plan on framing it in a collage for her. There's nothing like having three of your childhood pets passaway in a week to make you feel too old at 24... |
