I had no idea until recently that this beast won an AHRMA SuperTwins race in Daytona this year. It was the bike's race debut and the rider's first time at the track. Pretty impressive. http://www.irvingvincent.com/main.htm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azcaJj5-f54 http://www.pbase.com/melbob/image/92270037 |

Most do not know this was a Vincent. Rollie Free land speed record 150.313mph Sep. 1948
I'm kind of hoping that Vincent gets back into full time racing again. (Message edited by p47b on April 19, 2008) |

He must have had a level of trust in that rear fender that beyond imagination. Hey, take this bike out to the salt flats and see how fast it will go. Me: Hell Yeah! Oh, you need to be as light as possible so no leathers. Me: Um, ok I guess In fact just wear this speedo and swim cap. Me: I don't think... And to get maximum aerodynamics lay out on the bike with your crotch on the rear fender separated from the wheel by a piece of sheet metal. Me: Oh HELL NO! That new Vincent looks sweet. I can't watch the video but I bet that beast sounds mean. |

Took this on the speedway this year in front of the AMA tent.. I wish I could remember the little history lesson I got.. This bike had some really cool features. Check out the rear tire thats an extra bigger sprocket for going up mountains and steep terrain..
