Yeah, I should have been on the way there right now as well. I figure I would have been out of the snow zone by now if I could have swung going. Hope you folks have lots of fun and post lots of pics. We were supposed to get another 6"-10" of snow today and tonight, but it's been downgraded to just an inch or three. ".......MJ is runnin good...." Uh, I assume you're sitting in the cab of a pickup or car and not typing this from the back seat of MJ, correct????? That's going to be some ride report if done from the pillion of MJ.    | ||

Wes and I are boarding the dogs this afternoon, packing the bikes this evening and heading North at 4 AM. We will be in Dallas sometime around noon and will probably hang out there the rest of the day. We should leave Dallas in the AM on Saturday going further North to Suches. Well that's the plan anyway. | ||

Day One (March 26)... Warm up ride. On of our group went down on the R. B. Russell. He is ok, the 1125r suffered major facial damage and other minor cosmetics. Day TWO (March 27)... 19 Bikes/ riders headed up to the westside of the cherry cola skyway. About 4 turns from TWO, one rider down due to gravel on the road. He was able to continue. Arrive at the west end of the cherry cola, slightly damp from drizzle along the way. Chery Cola awas great until about half way up. Can you say Pea-soup fog?? 20 foot visibility!!! 30 MPH for about 20 miles. Arrive at the Dragon. Conditions were perfect!!! The group split on their own. About 1 mile in, one rider down due to gravel in the road. He is ok and was able to ride away. Ride back, no problems. Barley Pop time.... Later!! | ||

So what's the story (guess I should've posted up this afternoon) for tomorrow - Sunday? I'm supposed to work registration in the AM, but am pretty sure I'm not gonna ride 90 mins in the rain up there at 7am, esp if they're not even doing demo's. And I can't get ahold of anyone whose # I have! | ||

LESS THAN 30 MILES FROM HOME.... BEARINGS BLOW AT 80 MPH!!! What a BUMMER!! I felt a odd shake on the rear end and it just kept getting worse. Pulled to the side of the road and turned the flash light on the rear wheel just to see the bearing puke all over the place. Lucky for me it happened less than a 1/4 mile from a exit with a Flying J. Called the wife to come and get me. Went home got the trailer, headed back, loaded up. 4 hrs later here I sit on BADWEB! Big Thanks to Mike for hang'n and hav'n some coffee with me. Sorry my bike dropped a big turd on us! HOW MANY DAYS UNTIL THE WEST VIRGINIA SC(RAIN FREE) RALLY? | ||

No problem staying... having some coffee and warming up was JUST fine with me. With packing and leaving Suches at 3pm, I arrives home at... 3am...(also fitting condsidering I left on thursday at 3:30am). With some stops for food, gas, to pee and for the inevitable Uly wheel bearing failure. But as I said... it was a hellva trip for a Buell h}ydration pack (1600 miles round trip). And there's too many days til WVII... |
