Michael, who are you riding there with? We're leaving Columbus at 6am. If you leave a bit earlier, haul down 301 to 71, you can roll with the four of us heading from Columbus... I grew up in Elyria and I'll be visiting this weekend, we should get a beer! |

Im pitching a tent just thinking about riding DRY mountain roads under SUNNY skies. Lets all hope and pray that my dowel "rod" isnt wrong! Paul, there should be plenty of trees around. #2 will require some "finesse" though. Grab the nearest rabbit..... (Message edited by TORQUEMONSTER on March 21, 2008) |

Hey Jim, Let's do a run up Richard Russell and Brasstown Bald, nice riding, and excellent places to stop and take in the view. |

Worst case scenario on weather: Hanging out with a bunch of nuts in the rain, TWO lodge cooking to be et, self-medicating (knowhutImean,Vern?), and waiting/resting for the next day of 'shine. Or doing the tourist thing over in Helen despite the rain. Check all gear for weatherproofing, PUT ON and check rainsuits, clean/waterproof riding boots, and so on. I kinda like riding in the rain if I'm prepared. Much more sightseeing to be done at lower speeds, curves are enjoyable and more easily studied too. Ready to go, RAIN AND SHINE!! BTW folks- I have updated my kitchen manager here at Smoky Mountain H-D/Buell to expect around 2 dozen riders passing thru- post to the "Rendezvous in Maryville" thread if y'all can stop by. "Bueller's Brunch" will be served from 10ish to 1PM, kickstands up by 1 so we can get a good ride in to TWO before dark-thirty.

The same thing happened last year with the weather. I remember I was the one freaking out. Friday and saturday turned out beautiful. Sunday was rainy, but that didn't stop the riding (although it did stop the demo's). It will be a great time. |

I look at it this way; There is nothing I can do ABOUT the weather, but there are things I can do DURING the weather, be it good weather or bad weather. |
