Has anybody else had these gloves fall apart on them? I have a brand new pair that I have never worn before. We went skiing in Colorado a couple of weeks ago and I decided to use them one day to see how they worked. They actually worked VERY well. Stayed dry and warm all day long. However, by the end of the day the funky (fake?) leather in the palms was literally pulling itself apart. You could see the white insulation underneath. And I'm not talking in just one little area...its everywhere this material is. The only thing these gloves touched all day were my ski poles (those aren't much different then a handlebar, ya know!). Like I said, I like the gloves, but for $75 you would think they would last longer then one day.  | ||

I have one pair of Buell gloves I bought about 5 years ago. They have held up really well. I don't have any complaints about them, but I did pay 125 for them. What can I say, I didn't know a whole lot about gear back then. Last year, I received a pair of Buell puck gloves as a present, and from the looks of them, I wouldn't trust them in an accident. So they just sit unworn, well, unless the girl who bought them for me comes along for a ride. | ||

I wonder if your Buell Puck gloves have the same mystery material in the palms? This stuff is almost like cloth and wears away till its black flaky lint. The material on the back side of the glove is much better and holds up fine. | ||

I bet it is, it doesn't feel like leather. At least my old ones are all double stitched and the same leather all around. Other than the older Buell Vanson jackets, I haven't found anything else off the racks worth owning. When my older gloves finally wear out, I'm going to give HELD some of my cash. | ||

There was a thread a while back with someone else with Buell gloves that did the same thing. I don't remember the model that did it. I am gonna try and dig it up. | ||

I've got the same thing going on with mine. I got the dealer to refund my money, and since they didn't call for the gloves back I got them back too ;) My temp fix (got me about half a season more out of 'em) was to go to Home Depot and get some liquid electrical tape and brush it on the disintegrating material. Couple of heavy coats and it held 'em together pretty well. Now...they're for yardwork. | ||

A question.....did you use them on a tow rope . I have destroyed a bunch of gloves on a tow rope. Just the nature of letting a rope slip thru your hands until your ready to grab tight. | ||

I also had a new set of buell gloves that this happened to - the Turbulent gloves. Wore them twice, and the entire palm was gone from them. Just got store credit on them this week after a month and a half of dealing with it... | ||

Lost, Tow rope? No...but you would think so! That is literally after ONE use. I couldn't hardly believe it. I wouldn't put my name on these gloves if they are going to use poor/cheap materials. | ||

I have had mine and used them all winter (I ride everyday FOR work.) Kept me dry, kinda warm, and havent came apart like that. I honestly thought they were gonna to, but after my season of salt and snow I dont think mine will do that same things. The material used on the palms looks like its meant for comfort instead of heavy duty work/riding. I havent really "pushed" mine to see if they fray tho, I think skiing would be the most you could do to abuse them? Not that the gloves were miss-used, but they were used hard if used skiing. They are about as thick as mechanics gloves tho so...take with a grain of salt. time to start using some real leather anyways, its springtime soon. | ||

tow rope, In ohio on a number of beginner and intermediate hills they use a rope to haul you up the hill. It basically is a long rope tied in a big loop. Top of the hill is the motor and the bottom a pulley. The rope is in continuous motion on the ground. When ready to go back up the hill you bend over pick up the rope letting it slide thru your hands. When you are set you tighten your grip and off you go. It is extremely tough on gloves. | ||

I have them. They are failing too. Skiing does have a lot more hand and wrist movement than motorcycling though(unless you crash). I really like these gloves for fit and style, but the palm material is junk. The same is true of the Buell winter gloves. A true disappointment in what is otherwise a great glove. |
