Modesto has a Harley dealership called Mitchells of Modesto. They gave Buell a separate place because of fighting between the Buell and Harley fans. At least, that's what I have been told. Although I have always wondered if that was bogus or not. |

Fighting? You mean with fists Jon? Geez that's why I gave up on Harley, they're owned these days by a bunch of school girls, more chrome than cut down, more comfort than culture and no cutthroat crusaders at the controls!! That's why I bought Buell but hell they're all owned by a bunch of plutocrats!!! Anyone know where I can get me a rebels bike? Rocket |

>>>And Buells can be sold thru independant dealers. Wrong >>>I do not think there are any rules prohibiting someone starting up a Buells only dealership. Wrong...but better. The word "think" had supplanted "know". How do you know? Have you EVER read a Harley-Davidson dealer contract? Enquiring minds want to know.... The internet...God love it.

But still right about Buell distribution being responsible for selling bikes to the dealerships. No I have never read a dealer contract. Did read all of what was entailed to open a dealership. You had better have a big fat wallet or an extremely friendly bank officer in your hip pocket. Court..serious question. What would stop someone or why would Harley want to stop someone from opening a Buell only dealership then? If the local area harley shop does not want to sell them, why could someone else not do so????? |

Blake still hasn't answered two questions: Have you ever considered having T-shirts made with that BadWeb logo on it? And... BTW Blake...why haven't you ordered up a poster? |

Dyna, Bomber was right, and you were wrong. Accept it. Harley-Davidson calls the shots on Buell sales, on Buell dealerships and on Buell accessories. That's what you were arguing against, but it's true. |

Anonymous, In reference to your above post, what did Harley Davidson say to Bob Dron (my Buell dealer) when Dron dropped Buell and their inventory went to Fremont Cycle Center and Modesto? How did Harley Davisdon "call the shots" on that one? |

Anon...you are arguing that Harley calls the shots. All I said was Buell makes the bikes & they are sold thru Buell distribution corp. What is so wrong about that????????????? Keep on trying to prove your point tho. Harley owns Buell, you think we dont know that? You think we dont know Harley controls the purse strings? Fact is based on accounting principles & as far as the law & courts are concerned..Buell distribution corp is the one who is responsible for the sales. If you work at Buell, do you tell everyone you work at Harley?????? But thanks for playing along..next contestant. |

Anon, Do you know if there are plans to get Bob Dron back in the fold? Has Dron made any noise about the new bikes? |

Dyna, On the poster... Wrong thread, but I'll answer here anyway against my own rules. I'm just not a big poster collecting kinda guy. Y'all did a great job though. I s'pose if there's some left over I'd like to have one. M2Me, On the BadWeB T-Shirt/Shirts... we're getting real close on that one... stay tuned. Jon, Sales from BMC to the dealers via BDC are controlled by Harley. Sales from dealers to customers or from dealers to dealers are another thing. Hence my prior statement about defining what is meant by "sales." |

I think Dron was a good example of a Harley dealer having no business representing Buell. The people that work there are great, especially at the parts counter, but really. They looked at Buell as lesser profit from floor space. If they ever want Buell back, I hope that Buell says "No Chance". |
