when I realized they wrote a song about me. The song Rock N' Roll Lifestyle really hits home. I don't have a Moto Guzzi but I do have a kickin' Buell. I also spend way too much money on music. My cd collection is shiny and costly and pretty big. I just spent a small fortune on Bonnaroo tickets.

I definitely living in my Parents income tax bracket and not my own it would seem at the moment.

Anyone else feel like a song was written about them? Which one?

CHRIS SPEDDING MOTORBIKIN'

Motorbikin', motorbikin', motorbikin', motorcycling
Movin' on the queens' highway
Lookin' like a streak of lightnin'
If you gotta go, go, gotta go motorbike ridin'
Listen to me and I'll tell you no lie
Too fast to live, too young to die
I bought a new machine and then they say
It takes your breath away

Motorbikin', motorbikin', motorbikin', motorcycling
Movin' on the queens' highway
Lookin' like a streak of lightnin'
Baby won't you come with me
I'll take you where you wanna be

Here I am again, I'm dressed in black
I got my baby, she's ridin' up back
We're doin' about ninety-five
I said: Oh, it's good to be alive

Motorbikin', motorbikin', motorbikin', motorcycling
Movin' on the queens' highway
Lookin' like a streak of lightnin'
If you gotta go, go, gotta go motorbike ridin'

I don't want a pickle
Just want to ride on my motorsickle
And I don't want a tickle
'Cause I'd rather ride on my motorsickle
And I don't want to die
I just want to ride on my motorcy...cle

It was late last night the other day
I thought I'd go up and see Ray
So l went up and I saw Ray
There was only one thing Ray could say, was:

Just last week I was on my bike
I run into a friend named Mike
Run into my friend named Mike
Mike no longer has a bike. He cries:

Wait...What?

OK, if this thread is about commercial songs, this ditty doesn't quite fit but it's great in its own right, IMHO.
It's a poem that was posted on the BadWeB in Jan 2000 by the esteemed Bueller Bob Gussenhoven.
It kinda goes to the tune of a certain Chuck Berry song,

quote:

A Poem. A Hooligans Dream

Up in the morning without delay, Unleash the Bike it's time to play.

Started and warmed it's out to the street, where straights and curves are a hooligans treat.

Down the Road like a Bat out of hell, Was that a cop? I couldn't tell.

Into a corner ashort ways away, Grinding the end of my foot pegs away.

Out of the corner and on the fuel, I meet up with a Bike, Its time to duell.

We stop at a light, I look at my Foe,Mentaly ready for the light to say Go.

He's riding a honda, One built for speed, He's faster I know so witts I will need.

We launch from the light, He's pulling away,What will I do? A corner I pray.

My praires are answered on down the line, Now i'm in my element and things are now fine.

He slows for the corner, I'm on the gas. Inside or outside I know I will pass.

Six miles of corners and he's not in sight,I stop and I wonder if he is all right.

I turn around, Ride the way I went, Along side the road he lay buggered and bent.

I stopped and I asked if he was ok, He wiped his eyes and just looked away.

Beaten and hurt, all he could say, What was that Bike that Blew me away?

I stood there proud as if to Gleam, The Bike is a Buell, A Hooligans Dream!!

Can you imagine Erik & The Thunderbolts doing that one?

"Sometimes I Do" or pretty much anything else by Social Distortion will fit the bill for me.

Die Moth******er Die by the band DOPE!

Ironhead by Rob Zombie and Ozzy!

Jump Around by House of Pain!

They don't describe me at all, but they are the first three tracks in my workout mix. They are a great way to start the day.

White Zombie: Black_sunshine

(gripping the bars his knuckles went white with desire
The wheels of his buell exploding on the highway like a slug from a .45
True death: 400 horsepower of maximum performance piercing the night
This is black sunshine.)

Yeah! move me in the silence baltic motorway
Hang me on the edge before I fall away
Apocalypse is dawnin action on the mile
A can-do revolution, earth to the river [nile]
Sweetn the ride black sunshine
Sweetn the ride, yeah!
Sweetn the ride black sunshine
Sweetn the ride, yeah!
Cry a river cosmic, moon in scorpio
Feel her body breathe, acid radio
Tell me that you like it, when Im going down!
Tell me that you like it, move to the speed of [sound]
Sweetn the ride black sunshine
Sweetn the ride, yeah!
Sweetn the ride black sunshine
Sweetn the ride, yeah!
Go! slide into, I said 44 cool heart can
A hypnotize dream into infinity, I turned the love to lies
Crawl across the water, wave and sink into the sea
Reflectn onto everything, that you can never be
check-out!, yeah!
To the devil a daughter comes 200 worlds away, yeah
Born to lose the love you choose, destroy another day
Check out!!
Sweetn the ride black sunshine
Sweetn the ride, yeah!
Sweetn the ride black sunshine
Sweetn the ride
Stare into the t.v. kiss off the pain
Wonderland is falling, no sing, no rain momentary
Damage into the high drift me to the circuit sky

(finally nothing moves. high noon.
Black top rolling below the asphalt drive
A concrete fascination scraping the edge of nothing
This is black sunshine.)

I changed wheel to bars and Mustang to Buell. The song is about a Mustang but I just ignore that.

All right it's more "for" me than "about" me, but it's a great track & they're terrific live.

I like Cake's "Rock'n'roll Lifestyle" too but I prefer their version of "I Will Survive" to any other.

Alice in Chains, Don't follow

Hey, I ain't never coming
Home
Hey, I'll just wander my
Own road
Hey, I can't meet you here tomorrow
Say goodbye don't follow
Misery so hollow

Hey you, you're livin'
Life full throttle
Hey you, pass me down that
Bottle, yeah
Hey you, you can't shake
Me round now
I get so lost and don't
Know how
And it hurts to care, I'm
Going down

Forgot my woman, lost my
Friends
Thinks I'd done and where
I've been
Sleep in sweat the mirrors
Cold
See my face it's growin'
Old
Scared to death no reason
Why
Do whatever to get me by
Think about the things I
Said
Read the page it's cold
And dead

Take me home

That's a great piece of music and a great video too:

Toby Keith - "As Good As I Once Was"

That guy that does the nose job on Toby at the end? I do believe that is Kareem Abdul Jabar, is it not?

and earnest and true
But under my hood
is internal combustion power
Satan is my motor
Hear my motor purr."

Billy Joel from "River of Dreams" seem to describe my endeavor pretty well

I know I'm searching for something
Something so undefined
That it can only be seen
By the eyes of the blind
In the middle of the night
