Cameron sold me my M2 in 2000 when he was working as a salesman at Stone Mountain. Through a series of events and mishaps out of his control, I wound up having to go to another dealer to get some major warranty issues cleared up. Cameron eventually tracked me down here on the BadWeb and went out of his way to clear the air about some of the issues I had over there. I was always impressed by the fact that when he was in a position to change things as the general manager, he went to the trouble to get into contact with a customer he sold a bike to three years earlier. A guy like that is going to be a success where ever he goes. Thanks for selling me my Buell, man. Thanks for everything. |

After the last few (stressful) months I need a break. MB-V can't get here soon enough. While riding here is still good, I need to hang out with and ride with some fellow BadWeBbers. Seems like there's a lot of change in the air for 2008. Some things however should never change. MB-V, Badweatherbikers, friends, to name a very few. Come on MB-V! |

AMEN...to that! We normally do Daytona Bike Week and we are skipping that this year so the 27th is a highly anticipated date on the Ruffners Calendar! Got a thing from the Illinois Federal Courts that I am supposed to be on Federal Jury Duty for the Month of March. Sure hope that our late month weekend is not screwed up because of that. I don't mind serving Jury Duty, I think its a civic duty and my job pays me as usual, but I sure don't want it to interfer with my FUN! Mrs 04buell |

Fellas, Im buying a vid cam for some on board (and campfire azzless chaps dancin) action at MBV. LOL. Im leaning towards the Oregon Scientific ATC2K. See it here: http://www2.oregonscientific.com/shop/product.asp? cid=8&scid=107&pid=709 My only gripe is that some say the sound quality stinks. I know placement will play a big role in that issue. I definately need to hear my motor in the vid. Also, the image quality supposedly deteriorates as the image is enlarged beyond a You Tube sized clip. Id like to be able to burn it to a dvd eventually. Anyone have a better suggestion around the same price range? (Message edited by TORQUEMONSTER on February 06, 2008) |

"Wow, Danny, usually people just track you down to try to beat you up." That may have been part of the plan if I got real pissy with him. Thankfully, I was only a little pissy. Even if I get tracked down, I'd have to be caught before a proper beatdown could be administered... and I ran a 19:16 in my last 5k. I'm sure I could run even faster if I had a better reason to. |

I too have been feelin the need to get out and ride, especially in preparation for MBV. Having never ridden the North Georgia Mnts, but being a veteran of Deals Gap, Talihina Dr, Redlodge, MT, etc…. I knew I needed to get my knee down a few times before the run out to TWO. So, this weekend it managed to climb up in the 70’s in North Central Texas on Saturday and Sunday. I managed to find a group of guys to ride with (Buells and other) and we headed out for a couple of 120-mile stints on the curviest roads we could find. The short of the long is, I got muscles hurting I had forgotten about. LOL, I have a lasting cramp in my right leg with knee joint pain and my solar plexes feel like I have been doing pushups for days. MAN I AM OUT OF SHAPE! So, I am now instituting a daily regiment of exercise and riding to help me cope with the winter layover. I will also be revisiting my on board Deals Gap video to ensure I remember what Twisty’s really look like and start working on my trail braking and right side of the yellow line apexing. Wuuu Whooo! Just over a month till I get to meet n greet and ride with some of the best Buellers I have yet to ride with. See ya there… |

A Beastie Boys reference??? Man...this is gonna be one helluva good time. I cant wait for March! The Badness is a delayed birthday present for me. On the side....my dept. at work is abuzz about a taco potluck coming up near the end of next month (equivalent to "Hawaiian Shirt day" around here) I sent out my routine "please mind your manners" email since I cant stand unclean food and lack of buffet etiquette. The usual backlash emails came in by the droves and as I was reading them I realized that said potluck falls on March 27th (the first day of my vacation) I quickly recalled my email and suggested we throw caution to the wind and have a "finger food potluck" knowing damn well that while theyre all munching down microorganisms, Ill be headed to Suches! SUCKERS!!!!! (Message edited by TORQUEMONSTER on February 06, 2008) |

Ok, so I am watching the vids of wolf pen gap.... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-562066284 3384545737 http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-562066284 3384545737 and it looks to me like the roads are a little eaten up in the insides and have quiet a bit of road work done to them. It reminds me of the Pig Trail in Arkansas. Is this the case? What is the condition of the road? |

Hey Ftbstrd, After watching your vids, I had this thought back to my ride this weekend. I had this R1 on my tail all day on Sunday while I rode the twisty's. We get pulled over and start talking and he keeps asking me to ride the Uly. He says it is amazing how smooth I and it looked in the down low through the turns. He all but begs to ride it and throws me the keys to his 07 R1. He continues on about how rough the R1 was through the corners and it looked like the Uly was just floatin..... I have to admit we were on some nasty asphalt. The other two Buellers hung way back and let me and the R1 rip it up. Most of the time though, I was riding and shooting pics with my DSLR of this guy tweeking it all day, so I decided to give him a callsign "Tweek", he reminds me of the Tweek Tweek off of South Park. Any time I pulled the camera out of the tank bag, I would hear his bike rev up and then bam! He was on one wheel. The bike reminded me of the that kid. I laughed all day! This was the guy on the R1 that day.

SlowRide, No need for concern... While sections of Wolfpen Gap are a little rough, most of the roads in the area are in great shape!! |

Thanks for the information, from what I could see it looked like there was gravel on the inside corners. I think that was what triggered the questions. Thanks again for the input, as usual I will be play follow the leader for the first couple rides through the area until I feel comfortable. I am really looking forward to it~ |

I despise gravel. I don't recall much at all down there. Here in Ohio it seems like any corner that looks like fun is guaranteed to have gravel in it. I remember I had a couple scares with gravel down there, but really just a couple, out of 3 days of constantly riding twisties. |

Just how cost effective is March Badness? With my sales in the toilet I started to look at how much this trip should cost. $80 for gas (1200 miles + or - ) $36 for 3 nights of camping $20 for MBV t shirt $100 for 4 days of grub and I think thats high 236.00 bucks.... not bad for 4 days and 3 nights in Buelldom. Whats your budget for MBV?

Gravel.. Ugghhh... don't remind me about our glorious Ohio roads. The triple nickle is ALWAYS littered with that crap. But down in the Smokey Mountains, rarely have I run into gravel. I have on some of the really remote back roads that no one dares to ride...and then Happy Valley last year. They were transporting gravel to the top and loaded the trucks full. So around the S corners heading up to "Top of the World" I encountered some on the Uly. Washed out my front...I tumbled...the wife rode me like a surf board. We were going at a decent clip and I never saw it. It was the same color as the road. Talked to a few locals and they stated, I wasn't the first one down. I came away with some raspberries and my wife was fine. The Uly broke it's master cylinder off and nothing else was touched. I ran the Dragon with no front brake and still managed to pass sport bikers... My budget... I don't have one. I'm out for good time...but I do expect that my total bill shouldn't run over $250 including everything... I plan to save gas money by riding down instead of trailering. |
