We will be attending the MotoGP race at Indy this Sept. and my buddies and I would like to camp out. We will be riding in on our bikes. I have heard that there is limited camping at the track. We need some local expertise on what camping is available in the area. Any help would greatly be appreciated. |

use this link to contact IMS. there is a paid parking/camping option in the subject area. https://imstix.brickyard.com/ContactUs.aspx |

There are all kinds of empty lots across from the track, on Georgetown Road. The people there will be happy to take some cash to let you camp. This would be on the west side, behind the main straight. |

While staying in one of the lots across the street is appealing, I am wondering about them filling up (since they probably don't reserve them) and then arriving at the track on a bike with nowhere to go. I also wonder about the "facilities", since having to take a dump in the middle of the night may be something to consider. Is there any commercial tent camping grounds in the area? Thanks. |

They won't fill up, when you get there, you'll see. For the dumping action, I can't say. When the 500 is on, they have literally 100s of port-o-lets in the area. For MotoGP, I imagine there will be some, but I don't know that for sure. In my mis-spent youth, we took showers at the car wash. |

There is plenty of camping in the huge lot to the northwest of the Speedway, on the other side of Georgetown Road. Look at the area in Live Earth or Google Earth, you can't miss it. |

In my mis-spent youth, we took showers at the car wash. Now, THAT is hardcore! I have never been "hosed down" with a 3500 psi pressure washer before. I guess your ears got really clean, huh? jimi |

Looks like there will be quite of few of us there for the race weekend. We have a group of 10 that will be in section E. Should we maybe make plans for a Bad Web party on Saturday night? I don't know ther area there, any locals care to suggest a place. |
