If there is a group hitting the ferry across to Homecoming I'd be up for that. My wife wants to go but she doesn't think she can make the entire distance riding, and I really don't want to trailer the bikes. TK |

Court, Where are you guys leaving from? What path of travel are you taking across the US? I could be convinced to meet somewhere along the route? |

I'm still trying to get a group together from the MD/DC area. I would love to meet up with other Northeast groups for a big ol' group ride out! I plan on riding, and am about *this close* to convincing the wife to "escort" with the Ram 2500 full of spares, fluids, tools, sodas, and a worst-case-scenario ramp and tie downs. Basically because she would like to go, but isn't too keen on the idea of a whole day on the back end of my S2. Anyone know if EZ-Pass is an accepted toll format out that way? I can swipe a pair from my in-laws Also, will there be any options other than hotels for folks (like me) who are...uh...detail challenged in their planning? Like, if I have a tent and hibachi in the truck will we be able to crash somewhere? Don't worry, if we camp we'll be prepared. The old weed-wacker is already partially deconstructed on its way to becoming a margarita blender I gotta get those reservations..... |

Hey Rat.. Looks like I'll be on the road with ya! However, we may have a convoy working since we'll need to take our truck and trailer as well. As for EZ-Pass, currently it's accepted in VA, MD, PA, WV,ID and IL as well as NY, NJ, NH, MN and MASS - although I dont' think we'll be hitting those states on this run.. Looks like Ohio may be the only state that's gonna be a pain in the azz about it, still requiring us to pony up cash. Oh and make the damn reservation at the hotel already.. Lord knows, I hope Robin's already made ours (she was supposed to get it done a while ago). Talk at ya later.. |

Ratbuell, it's all turnpikes once you get into Pa. It's basically a straight line run all the way to Chicago. |

Good enough on the EZpass. I wasn't sure if there'd be a ton of booths on the way out or not, so that's good news Blu - stay tuned, big happenin's going on 'round here ;) |

coming from MD you'll catch the PA pike (76) somewhere, booth to get on and last one around the 28 mile marker. pa has the ez pass. once in ohio, there's a toll booth at the pa/oh line (take ticket) and you pay at the oh/in line. there are plenty of service plazas to get fuel and food. http://www.ohioturnpike.org/ |
