Anyone have one? Can anyone help a fellow Bueller out by selling me one CHEAP? I'm going to college out here in CA and I had to leave my bike at home in Virginia. Yes, that was very hard. But I need a go getter and something to get me to and from work and school. Work is only about 4 miles away, and I think a go ped, or a motorized scooter would be efficient. Plus, how cool would I be knee-draggin' a scoot? Any ideas? Any help? Believe me, after riding me 'Bolt, i really don't want to ride something I have to power myself.... So please please please help me? Thank you!
Check your local regs for the legality of them, and check your school's regs as well, you might not be allowed to bring your go-ped into the classroom. But, really, if work is only 4 miles just get a bicycle, and if you want to knee drag then get a stunt bicycle, or find a local AlleyCat race and get up and personal with some of the fixie riders.
Many campuses do not allow motorized vehicles on campus - though some do allow you to CARRY the go-ped into class (ask your prof about bringing it inside to park)
My boss was getting donated Go-Ped scooters in his Reno Air Racing a few years back... I'll ping him to see if there are any "leftovers."
Do NOT encourage me. I have a motor for one in the garage. I am in the long process of putting it on a Schwinn and doing a board tracker, it is on the list of things to do, after the Japapoolaza Scrambler, after XR Cafe built, and after the dirt squirter build. IF I can buy rather than build then I am back to tinkering on the Whizzer. (D.I.N.K.s may not rule the world, but does give you a full garage.)

I got a note back from Jon - their GoPeds are USED up. Keep in mind, he's had them for almost 8 years!!!
He said he was looking for replacements and kept going back to Ebay or Goped.com
If you're going to use it on campus - you might consider an Electric. Goped makes one, Schwinn does also. I've ridden one of the Schwinns in the pits at Willow Springs - kinda cool. Admittedly the gas powered scooters are going to beat the electric on range and speed.
If you really want a scooter, look at the electric ones. Most municipalities have outlawed the gas models.
My advice is to get a cheap bicycle. Any scooter you get will go missing...
I brought a Segway a couple years ago. Cool toy, but I couldn't leave it for a minute. Or for that matter ride it without everyone want to ask questions. I had to "donate" it to my Mother so she could ride it in her gated community.
