At the very least it's a resounding endorsement of the engineering concept. . . . looks like they've tried to copy the Honda NAS . . . . (Message edited by court on February 01, 2008) |

They seem to be all doing it now except Ducati I know the risk I take of getting Rocket banter but the Italians seem to be content not posing. |

FWIW, If you're not looking at your competitors ideas, you're not on top of things. That people want to copy Erik's stuff just means he was right. |

Wow, think there might be a lawsuit on the horizon? I thought they said that patent wore out years ago. How's this for copycat though! Concept bike from suzuki, nice front brake!

Aeholton said, Sweet little bike! Thinking we will be getting one for the Mrs. when we can afford it. We thought about it for the Mrs. too, but we decided it really doesn't do anything that much better than her Ninja 500 and costs a lot more. The 650 still has bargain basement suspension, and about the only advantage over the 500 (if you want to call it an advantage) is the FI and a few HP. She has since ditched the 500, and now rides a R1150R. |

How's this for copycat though! Concept bike from suzuki, nice front brake! As I understood/understand it - the implimentation used by Buell for our perimemter brake is what is patented (floating rotor), not the existance of the perimeter brake itself... |

i doubt it, the thing is down low but it is still off to one side. Actually, just the little outlet nub is off to the side - those mufflers actually look like car mufflers (flat oval cross section) and it spans across to the other side. |

Full floating perimeter brakes were on a prototype Norton in the late eighties/early nineties. |

That's actually the first Honda I've liked in a long time. Nice organic look to it. |

That is nice, I'd immediately look for an aftermarket exhaust with a shorter exit, but other than that very nice for a rice rocket. |

that ninja 650 has been out for a year. supposed to be a great bike, haven't read a bad review on them. in fact it was a finalist for me last year, but the mighty buell cityx won out. |
