Fritz you going to be there this year? As of right now, the answer is NO. I've been out of work since September, I'm pretty far behind on bills, and I'm recovering from the operation that I had last week. Doc cut me horizontally across the abdomen.... can barely walk, cant laugh, sneeze, cough, etc. without killing myself. I'm poppin 325mg percocet every few hours to numb the gut. Looks like it's going to be a long recovery! Plus unemployment funds will run out in the middle of march, so I'll need to get a job real soon. That's going to be a tough condition to drop during a job interview......"Oh by the way, if you hire me, I'm going to need to take 5 days off the week after next". So, despite Mike D's best efforts(thanks Mike), it looks like its no-go. But, who knows. Things could change right? |

Just HTFU and get your sh!t together!(joking) Hope you heal well and get a great job soon! Maybe a "Saintly or Bust" fund is in order!} |

My riding partner to Idaho last summer is coming along with his Sprint ST and my son is thinking about it since it is his spring break. He hasn't ridden his Blackbird since his get-off 1 1/2 yrs. ago but has ridden my bikes a couple of times. If he does, we'll hang back with the slow group so he can get his confidence back. |

i am hoping i can get my 1125 broke in before getting there. i dont feel like having to follow the break in proceedures on that particular trip! the way its going though i havent even ridden the thing yet. still has that one mile that got put on it in wisconsin. although maybe i just need to bring the 9 anyway. it really needs to get out and play with the georgia boys ;) |

Hey Tim, don't y'all have a dyno, or access to one? That would be the perfect way to break it in. |

ya we have one, put man that thing chews up tires like you wouldnt believe. it would have one hell of a flat spot! i thought about it, but would really like to ride it, plus it would have to be on the dyno for along time to get to the break in mileage. |

ya we have one, put man that thing chews up tires like you wouldnt believe. it would have one hell of a flat spot! Slap on a baloney skin from the pile of old tires by the dumpster.... then break it in and finally put the new rubber back on. ... OR, if you don't want to dismount/mount/dismount/mount, swap the entire rear wheel assembly from one of your xb's. They've got to be spent from the 07' riding season anyway. .... with this method you get to model some different colored wheels on the new ride, & see what develops. |

That seems like it would take FOREVER just sitting on a dyno varying your throttle, just to get a couple hundred miles on the thing. Personally, I'd wait until the first halfway decent day you have off, and go ride the thing non-stop from dawn to dusk! Seems like a much more enjoyable way to rack up some mileage. |

Warm the engine up completely. Then, using 4th gear: Do Three 1/2 Throttle dyno runs from 40% - 60% of your engine's max rpm Let it Cool Down For About 15 Minutes Do Three 3/4 Throttle dyno runs from 40% - 80% of your engine's max rpm Let it Cool Down For About 15 Minutes Do Three Full Throttle dyno runs from 30% - 100% of your engine's max rpm Let it Cool Down For About 15 Minutes. There ya go, it's ready to ride. It takes so long on the street, because you can't run wide open (or shouldn't) ever. A friend of mine broke his engine in this way on his new Aprilia. |
