Jeremy, Got a spare bed and your more than welcome. I don't think I will be going to homecoming as my summer is pretty filled up already, but I will ruminate on it and see if I change my mind. Chris |

I posed the question today, and received tacit approval. We'll have to see as we get a little closer to time. Thanks for the offer. I'll check back in. I'd love to hook up with you and ride on with you from there to Wisconsin. |

Jeremy, We will be camping. If we go Thursday late afternoon it will be just one more night in the tent and much closer to the Friday am festivities. If it is a Friday am roll call you are welcome to ride over here Thursday and spend the night in my camper. I still may not make Thursday, business you know. Brad mentioned leaving then and Mark was interested too. Friday am I can plan. Thursday for me is a guess at this point. I am planning the trip to Homecoming this year again. I had a great time last year riding up to Toledo solo, I spent the night in a motel got some good rest and met up with the Ohio group to ride in the am. We went to Hell and then cut across Michigan to the Speed Fairy ($70.00). A great day of riding with some new friends. I didn't reserve a room because at that time because I didn't know if I'd be able to go. Then Wolfridgerider posted for an open spot in a room, my wife asked what I wanted for my fiftieth birthday(happend to be a long ride on my Uly), and walla! I was at Buell Homecoming. I am gonna be reserving and setting up my plans for that trip right after MBV. If you would like to make the ride with me and split a room up there, I'm open for planning it. We toured all of the Buell dealers across Michigan and those in Wisconsin involved with the main Homecoming event. We rode up along the Kettle Moraine, did Road America, and even had a special escort from our hotel and back to the event at Bads1's bar where Erik and his band played. Dana is a great host. He even allowed Brian to pass around a bottle of Scotch to toast BadWebbers! And Dana, I recall many, many posts here about the Homecoming last year, before and after. And you are right, they did get bounced quicker. |

I'll check and see what time we can get in. For Buelltoberfest I think it was around 9:00 a.m. I hope to be there around 2:00 p.m. So that's 9:00 Friday morning? I was wondering if it was available Thursday night. |

According to the TWO site they don't officially open until Friday 3/28. We were also wanting to come down on Thursday to be ready to ride on Friday. I was going to write them a note to see if we can camp there Thu. night or if we'd have to find another place before. I would like to be ready to go Friday morning instead of checking in, setting up, etc. |

Thanks for the info Smoke, I too am truckin in on Thursday and will be looking to setup that early evening to prep the campsite and bike for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Seeing I am a first timer to MB, I want to ensure I am not the hold up on any group rides or festivities! |

Mike/Mark, I know there are plans to ride the Dragon on Friday. What is the itinerary? Are you planning on going to Badness on Thursday, riding the Dragon on Friday? |

Iamike and Slowride: they are happy with us camping Thursday night, they just won't have meals going until Friday. Which means there will be a dinner ride again like last year. Thumper: Mark isn't planning on hitting up the dragon Friday I don't believe. I think he wants to stick around the new roads in North GA. Last year, If I remember correctly, everyone met at TWO at 9:00, and it was kickstands up for the dragon at 9:30. I think I'm still doing the dragon trip on Friday. |

I don't plan on going back the Dragon on Friday. Been there, ripped that. I'm going to run the local roads this year. That being said, you should be able to hook up with some riders from MBV and ride with them back to Suches. |

There were a bunch of Buells riding around there last Friday. My little Garmin friend will help us get back. |

I recently found out that I'll have Tuesday off too (I have Tuesdays off work for school, but school ends the week before). I'm thinking about taking a long way home up the Blue ridge parkway. Leave Suches Sunday afternoon for Greenville, SC (115 miles). Stay at family's house (lots of guest room). Monday morning leave for Ashville, NC (60 miles) to get on the Parkway. Ride parkway north as far as I want, camp Monday night, ride north some more, then proceed back to Columbus (350 miles from most of the Parkway back to Columbus) Anybody interested in joining me? I know the parkway is for the scenery, not for speeding or twistys, but it could be a great ride if the weather holds up. Nothings for sure, just wanted to see if there is any interest. |

I thought Carlos was going to ride UP to the Dragon on Thursday from Suches So, is this the post that Carlos has me read and say "We talked about this"? Not sure what Carlos' plans are as of yet. If it involves the Dragon, there will be NO repeat of last year. I'm not taking the trailer or the M2. His weekend will suck. |

As Smoke said, Thurs nite camping has been cool with T.W.O. in the past. However, unless you are cooking your own food, you will need to make dinner plans elsewhere. I am not sure if I will lead the Friday Dragon/ Cherohola run from T.W.O. or not... It is a fun ride, but I may just hang close to T.W.O. this year... But you never know... It doesn't take much arm twisting for me to go up there... I believe I have found peace with myself when I am on the Cherohala! |

Just a couple of links for us (still potential/pending/dreaming/trying) newbies to the region who thought Suches was part of "The Dragon" and didn't realize "it" was more than an hour away. http://www.tailofthedragon.com/ http://www.killboy.com/destiny.html Thinking (if I make it) that I might drag the trailer down the Tail of the Dragon on the way to Suches just to see what it is like. Medium car, small trailer, should be interesting since WI doesn't require license plates on small trailers. |

I just did a great ride on some TN secondary highways starting from Maryville, then to Tellico Plains, then heading south through Coker Creek, Ocoee, etc. I'd like to time these runs and figure if a loop to/from Suches via the Cherohala/Deals gap is possible, in mostly daylight, one way or another. (Can't remember the hwy #'s, but I'll research this.) Guaranteed great roads, few squids, probably few LEO's, unlike the Dragon Anyone got fancy & accurate GPS time/distance capability? Maybe we should plan out some half and full day rides from TWO, all compass points out- How bout Badweb geo-caching? Again, for youse folks with GPS... |

At last year's March Badness I naively thought that the crew coming up FROM Suches to the Dragon (which is literally in my back yard) would be able to time the ride, and head back via the Cherohala and hwy 68 south to GA. No such luck, with various mishaps slowing things down. After hanging out at the Gap too long, myself, Ft B, and Etennuly rode from Tellico Plains to Suches mostly in the dark, which sucked- (I knew we were on great roads in GA, but didn't know them or really trust them in the frickin dark.) Jeremy did prove the value of his HID setup, though... Bottom line is this- Deal's Gap IS a lot of fun, only under the right conditions however, which are harder to come by once the riding season starts. It's more than a little overrated, given we have so many other great roads in this region. We should all go exploring more often. |
