Led Zeppelin was done in 1981. I've seen Page and Plant live. Great shows, and great music. There will never be a Led Zeppelin band, or show again. Even if Bonham were alive today, that chemistry would surely be gone. Sorry to say but, the London thing sounds like a last effort to fill the bank accounts...which is ok. They deserve it. They were the greatest rock band IMO. Thank God the music was put on tape to enjoy forever. My 2cents. | ||

Bonnaroo 07 was the most fun I have ever had in my entire life! Led Zeppelin in 08 might just outdo the 07 show. With or without Zeppelin I would recommend that all music fans go to Bonnaroo at least once! It is an amazing experience. JP Jones was at Bonnaroo this year and played a bunch of Zeppelin songs with many bands that were there and also had a late night jam with Ben Harper and ?uestlove. Damn good show. | ||

Well I grew up in East TN. I hope to have the buell back there some time because that area has the best roads I have ever been on. I usually just fly to TN meet my brother and drive to the festival. Good times. | ||

By now, anyone interested in Led Zep will have seen the news and read reviews. What we were given was an absolute master class in heavy rock. I've listen to Zep for 30 odd years, though got more into them about 15 to 20 years ago, and would never consider myself a Led Zep fan in the true sense of the word. In other words, I don't need to boast how great they were. Great though would not be enough to describe last nights performance. Like I said, we witnessed an absolute master class in heavy rock, and in my case, from the very front of house. It was simply one of those rare occasions in rock n roll where you realised you were there for something utterly amazing, and an experience that kinda left you speechless. Rocket | ||

On December 10th, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham will perform at a tribute to late Atlantic Records co-founder Ahmet Ertegun at the 02 Arena in London. According to a press release, Zeppelin will headline the event, which will also feature music by Pete Townshend, Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings, Foreigner, and Paolo Nutini. (More performers are almost certain to be announced.) Rumors that a Zeppelin reunion show was in the works took off when flyers were posted around London announcing the sale of tickets to a Led Zeppelin concert at the arena. Profits from the event will go to the Ahmet Ertegun Educational Fund. Profits from this amazing show will go to the Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund which provides students with annual scholarships to universities in the UK, USA and Turkey. In addition, a music scholarship open to all will be established at Ravensbourne College in the UK. The incomparable Led Zeppelin will headline the tribute to the man who founded Atlantic Records in 1947. Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones will be joined by Jason Bonham, the son of their late drummer John Bonham. WOW . . . got lots of press in New York City and I love that video with the EDS-1275. We were watching on the 15 story video monitor in Times Square and I cried out . . . I know that dude. . . fellow said "you know Robert Plant?". . . "Hell no . . I know that scruffy looking biker dude. . .he rides an S-1". Nothing like name dropping.  | ||

Funny you should say that Court. I met lots of American folks there. Many came over to chat whilst we queued. Must have been that damn jacket I was wearing coz they all kept asking me if I had one. "Not anymore. I've got a Buell" and surprisingly not one American I met didn't know what a Buell was. But then again it was a Hammer of the Gods queue!! Speaking of guitars, Jimmy Page must have the most SG's I've ever seen on one stage at one time. The guitar of the night award though must surely go to Paul Rodgers. The sound from what he was plucking and strumming was amazing. I've trawled the net for an hour to find a picture of this guitar, so I hope someone knows something of its origin. It seems to me there are those that have to undermine the efforts, not because the son is a lesser drummer, just that he isn't his father. I was there, at the front throughout, and Son of Bonham did a fantastic job. Rocket | ||

I've listen to Zep for 30 odd years Great link Sean and Junior (based on the youtube link sounded great.) I saw them in Mannheim summer of '80 at the Eisstadion. One of those glorious summer memories that 'grows' with age. In truth,,,,,came out of the coma and feeling terrible. A good friend of mine woke up the following day with a broken leg -- baffling thing that broken leg and he swore, still swears, he hasn't a clue how it got that way. |
