Anyone who's been to the International Motorcycle Show, can you tell us what the trinket is that Buell gives you for having your blue key? Thanks! Sean |

Awww crap. No free shirts! Dang it. That usually meant that with a clean shirt, I could put off doing laundry another week! |

if it's not a tee shirt what is it? Court has hinted that it is a good bit of schwag. |

Like most here, I have a lot of respect and admiration for Mr. Court. When I bought my Uly (Oct 06), he got my bags shipped in 48 hrs when the dealer hadn't been able to for 2 months. But why oh why is he always so "mysterious" Maybe we'll have to remind him to tell us that story sometime........... |

Hopefully someone will spill the beans/okra/kringle on what it is, hopefully there isn't a non-disclosure associated with it, and hopefully the swag doesn't start showing up on $-bay two hours after the show opens. |

"hopefully the swag doesn't start showing up on $-bay two hours after the show opens." It always does, why would this year be any different? |

Well, I guess that would be one way we get to find out what "it" is. |

I have a box of the swag here on my desk . . . it arrived with an unwritten caveat not to spill the beans . . . or Okra as the case may be. To quote Eric Burdon. . . "it will be worth your time". |

The IMS has already occurred in Phoenix, Houston, and Fort Worth. Therefore, someone must have gone... And if it's conceivably public knowledge, why can't you tell us, Court? (Message edited by SeanP on November 12, 2007) |

Worth 6 1/2 hours each way (with gas at >$3 a gallon)? That's some pretty impressive swag! I'm hoping someone spills the beans before then so I can decide for myself. Out here in what the politicians (and obviously IMS) call "fly-over country" it takes a fair bit of travel to get to the show. An Oklahoma City, Kansas City, St Louis, etc show would fill that gap nicely. Yes I have written and e-mailed them but they obviously don't think anyone out here is worth the effort. Our population density isn't high enough. Bah Humbug Anyway...what were we talking about? Oh yeah this years' IMS swag, I hope it's as good enough to warrant the trip, because I'm not in the market for a new bike, or a stunt video so if I go it'll be for the Buell display. |

Hehehehe . . . the last time Buell gave a bike away was 1998. It was "not a good experience" and illustrated what happens in a truly random drawing . . . all it rally generated was a great story. |

Ok, so maybe a question that you can answer, Court - is there a specific amount of swag dedicated to each show, or is it a set amount for all shows? In other words, the show I am going to is in January, in Atlanta. Will there still be swag left when I get there, or will it all be taken up by previous shows? If needs be, I can go to the NYC show, because I will be in CT getting my mom's house ready to sell. I could grab the train to Grand Central and pop over to the Javits Center... |

Sean: It's a bit of a tough call and in truth I don't know. Last year they were out of XL shirts by the 2nd show of the season if I recall correctly. It's really tough to guess these things and a poor guess (trust me . . I've got over 1,000 left over shirts from pat events in my basement) results in lots of out of date stuff. My guess would be that the patches (which cost a heck of a lot less than a t-shirt and are "one size fits all" will be in abundant supply. I suspect you'll have no problem. If you are going to be in NYC let me know. . . kinda kicking around an idea. Not sure if any of you attended the party I help for Buell owners several years ago but it was fun and we're thinking of doing something again. The last one is still remembered because I held it in the Ducati Worldwide Flagship store. They were kind enough to bring in a Super Mono to display and allowed the Buells to be parked in the store. They were great hosts! Not sure it time and time will allow something this year but let's watch and see what happens. By the way . . . the patches are VERY COOL and it's neat to see the "Return of the Pegasus" Court |

Thanks for the heads up, Court. Patches are ok, but not everyone has somewhere to sew a patch on. Maybe I'll have to get a new jacket so I can sew patches on it... I just don't think it would look right sewn on my 'stich. |

On the other hand . . . that could be rather cool!
Not sure I'm brave enough to try it on my Hi-Viz.

Yeah, mine's a hi-viz, and I just don't know if it would look right. Also, if I start sewing patches on, I'd want to sew all sorts of patches on. An American flag, my combat patches, all my different wings, all that stuff. It might look a bit ... cluttered. |

I will K-I-L-L for one of those patches. Just point me out a victim. Or maybe I could just go to the show... hmm.... ~SM |

Those patches would be kind of a nice perk for people taking test rides once the bikes hit the dealership, and probably much more economical than slingbags (hint hint hint). |
