AAA mounted to sidecar. No problems with law enforcement, especially helicopters.

>>>Are Police Officers allowed to carry in other states? Yes. H.R. 218 amends Chapter 44, Title 18 of the United States Code (“Firearms”). Also known as the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004, H.R. 218 exempts current and retired law enforcement officers from state laws prohibiting them from carrying concealed firearms (other than machine guns, silencers, or other destructive devices). |

"Correct me if I am wrong, but I think .22's have killed more people than any other weapon in history." That is an inaccurate statement. No it isn't, I just wanted to say that, you did say "I think", so the statement is accurate, but the thought isn't. The .22 was considered a good self-defense for a long time, still is by some. Several famous school shootings, people were killed by .22 and not all close range either. But it was never a battlefield weapon. The Brown Bess musket, .75 caliber, was used across their empire for 100 years, many wars, including one that directly affected my antecedents. I don't have a fact-book handy to cite, but I'd pretty much argue that any popular military rifle has killed many many more than all .22 deaths combined. The same Mauser bolt action 8mm was used by Germany in both WWI and II, I'm sure it's has caused more deaths. Any of one of them, AR-15, AK-47, M1, etc. has killed more than all civilian/military deaths from .22 combined. |

hammer is correct with the H.R. bill, it was passed a few years back after 9/11 and L.E.O can even carry concealed on airlines given proper notice and the correct forms filled out. |

WHOA! is it THAT dangerous out there? Boy i must be REALLY naieve or something. Good thing about having a badge... Does NOT matter where I am... I can always carry And that one seems reckless. What Should i run out and buy? And how easy is it to learn to fire a gun from the bike while riding? Forget it. But do tell your stories of being confronted and being comforted knowing you can KILL your assailant. |

What Should i run out and buy? I would suggest a revolver and proper safety training. Police officers are typically very well trained. Some police departments even offer free training to the public. And how easy is it to learn to fire a gun from the bike while riding? Now that was a weird post. But hey... if that's what you like to do and you have a place to do it... get your freak on, brother. But do tell your stories of being confronted and being comforted knowing you can KILL your assailant. You don't need a gun for that! |

But do tell your stories of being confronted and being comforted knowing you can KILL your assailant. Just two weeks ago I had some crazed ass hole pull his truck into my lane to play chicken, then jumped out and tried to knock me off the bike while I rode past. That was the first time I even thought of the gun in a long time, but I tell you now.....I dont want to get caught that ONE TIME without it. |

When the FBI lumps the 22 calibers into that statistic they are including the .223 of the M-16 and all the "estimated" casualties of the Vietnam . Anybody that has ever shot one, knows that you gotta unload a full clip to get any sorta damn stopping power out of your civilian 22's. .357 Magnum will always be my favorite. If I cant get it done in 5 shots, I am over my head anyways |

This looks interesting if legal for you: And Galco makes some nice gear: And it looks like Missouri might win as far as us non-LEO people go as far as recoprocity goes: http://ago.mo.gov/Concealed-Weapons/Concealed-Carr y-Reciprocity-Missouri.htm |

If I find myself in enough trouble that i feel it that I have to pull out a gun I do not want it to be a 22. I would much much rather it never escalates that far, but I don't believe in threatening anyone with a weapon. If I have reason to pull it I have reason to shoot it. If I have reason to shoot, I always fire a warning shot....into center body mass generally as part of a "double tap". |

I think it's a law here in CA that the LEO's just go ahead and smoke yer ass if you try to carry your gun on a bike. YEARS ago a couple of acquaintences of mine got sent up for guns concealed on their bikes. If you need a gun to get out of a situation (and you're NOT in law enforcement) things have gotten WAY out of control. That's your fault for getting in that deep. Great communication skills, excellent riding skills and a fast, well-handling bike will get you out of a lot of $hi! alive and unincarcerated, as opposed to brandishing your weapon. Speeding tickets are lots easier to deal with than weapons charges. Right, wrong or indifferent, you're in for a world of crap if you use your gun for 'settling' civilian or domestic matters. This ain't the movies and you can't (unfortunately in some cases) go poppin' caps in the perps and bystanders with impunity. That's my opinion, uncool as it may be. I like guns, don't get me wrong, but to pack one on your bike is asking for problems. At least that's the way it is where I live. Unless you're living in Arizona, then ignore all of the above. AL |

cc laws vary from state to state . here in Mass , if licenced to carry , it must be on your person and concealed . if when transporting in a vehicle and not on your person , it must be locked in a case ,in your trunk or in the case of a pick-up behind the seat , unloaded and any ammo must be stored seperately . CANNOT be in your glove compartment ! |

My daddy, a cop who always carried, told me never to pack a knife or other weapon unless I fully intended to use it. So far I haven't packed one and have never had to use one, but I pretty much steer clear of places where I may need to fire. On the other hand, I want the right to carry if things change. There's a lot of kooks out there and my name is in the paper a lot. |

It is better to have a 22 than nothing at all.A hit with a 22 is better than a miss with a 44 mag. This is my favorite carry gun.44 mag from smith custom shop 3 in barrel, full lenth ejector shourd, round butt with pacmyer grips and the smoothest trigger you have ever seen. DA is lighter than most single action. They made 1500 in 1985.

I just went through the CCW training for Ohio this past weekend. It was interesting to say the least. According to the class, the average number of shots fired in a gun battle by cops (or civilians with CCW) is 10. Out of the 10 shots fired, only 2 (on the average) actually hit their target. With those kind of odds I wouldn't rely on a .22 to get the job done. |

My Kimber Tactical Ultra II in a shoulder holster works just fine for riding. I find that even with a fairly tight riding jacket on, it doesn't interfere with maneuverability or comfort. The only problem with the setup is that getting to the gun in a hurry could be problematic, especially if I were all bundled up in winter clothing. Maybe I should invest in a tank bag... |

In my opinion only cops and people of questionable fashion sense wear fannypacks. 99% of the time if you see an individual with a fanny pack, assume that there is a gun inside. I think it would make you a target. |
