i'm not really a harley guy, but i've tried hard to buy american. currently i own an 04 super. i did have a thunderbolt, but it had too many problems. i love buells and i want to buy another, but are they more reliable? nothing is cooler, in my opinion. nothing has more character, either. furthermore, can i change the bars to more upright ones? i'm not really the sportbike kind. and, no, i don't want a tall bike like the uly. i'm kinda interested in a 12 with slightly higher bars, i guess. man, these bikes are cool. |

I've had Buells ('97,'02,'05,'07) and the reliability of my XB has been very good. The others weren't bad by any stretch, they just keep getting better. All brands have their quirks and all brands do occasionally have a lemon show up, Buell is no different, but, customer service is as good as any if not better. I wouldn't be scared to buy Buell. I guarantee I will....Kenny (it will be air cooled....call me a purist) |

You should take a look at the lightning long XB12SS. Handle bars are easy to change if you don't mind replacing the brake line and clutch cable to gain a couple more inches. Buells are very much like their H-D cousins in that only a very small percentage remain box stock. We almost all put our personal stamp on our bikes. |

Buell has learned a lot and is now the MOST RELIABLE and trouble free member of the Harley-Davidson family. And one of the most reliable in the industry. (Message edited by court on October 29, 2007) |

Court, you might want to re-read your post. I've had/have a few and all have been normal issues. Don't wait . |

The difference in reliability between my 00 M2 and my 05 XB9SX was nothing short of amazing. 20k miles on the 9sx and it has been very reliable. Much better then my Yamaha was or my Kawasaki is. |
