Anybody know of a trustworthy source to get valves made? Not for a Buell, by the way. |

Huh. This seems to be uncharted territory here and on another forum. Let's try a different approach: does anyone have any experience with Ferrea Valves and Racing Components? |

Pretty well trusted in the auto drag racing world. I'm not sure about any kind of endurance or NASCAR type applications. What are you using them in / for ? |

FZR valves. The FZR intake valves "tulip" so to speak, or tighten up, and finally reach a point where the engine loses compression (sometimes in as little as 15K miles.) I've gone to the slimmest valve shims I feel good about, and so now I want new valves. Ferrea will make them out of my choice of three materials, as long as I provide specs. This won't be exactly cheap, since I figure I might as well get some exhaust valves too, and I was hoping for some sort of feedback about them, or about some other company that may be recommended to me. I don't want OEM valves, because I ride a LOT of miles on my Saturdays, and would have to replace them yearly. Also, I've been wanting for years to do a track day, and this is the bike I'll be taking. This kind of high mileage/hard usage combo would be a quick death, I think, for the stock items. |
