The Journo gig is going well. 22 Test Bikes this year. But coming down to having to pick my bike of the year. Images on my site. www.davidcohen.co.nz Just for fun, what would you choose? |

i'd like to say a buell model, but the fireblade is a nice bike imho. |

yeah - a techno marvel. Magnificent machine. but I also find it something an exercise in frustration at not being able to use its full potential anywhere but on the track. It does 70mph in first gear. I found myself looking at the speedo and going 's***!!" and grabbing the anchors so effortlessly does it go fast and so great is the temptation. Best bike for the track enthusiast. You are real quick out of the box. |

>>i'd like to say a buell model<< Take it as given - we'd all (and have previously) picked Buells in the money-where-mouth-is stakes. We're ugly enough to have reasonable discussions about other bikes - even compare them Buellistically. |

I'd say the STT, it's a great all round package for me, & lucky boy that I am, the wife saw one on Saturday & saw me drooling too, then promised me one as an early christmas present. Damn she's lovely, & so's the wife! |

Local dealer sells em with the dual seat kit & a spare set of plastic of your colour choice, but I'm going to see if I can find a used one first, I hate the enormous initial depreciation, just to say it's new, & I'd rather fettle it myself than go to the dealer. |

Understand that - been that way with Triumphs. Worth buying a 2nd hander ans spending the money on decent suspension. I lease my Buell - my company vehicle. Still tapping my fingers waiting for the 08s though. |

I will take one of each! Each offers something a little different. |

Personally, I'd pick the Uly. However, I make no claim whatsoever at being objective. There are loyal owners of all the bikes on the list who'll feel the same way about their choices. You do realize that no matter which bike you pick, you'll get a torrent of mail questioning your judgment and accusing you of bias. |

I'd pick the Thruxton. Takes me back to being a kid ad getting to ride on my brother's Bonne. All nice though! |

>>questioning your judgment and accusing you of bias.<< 'Those are my Principles - If you don't like them - I have others.' - Groucho. Qualifier is it's 'My' choice - the Editor makes the Mag's calls. The testers each get half a page in the Christmas issue for personal thanks, awards and brickbats. BOTY is one part. I can be objective. Particularly when naming my own criteria, which will be: 'Which one did I enjoy most.' If anyone objects I'll change the rules. Nyah! Glancing through those pictures only one bike looks as though it is truly in its element, the Ulysses. Why would you use that photo when you could have used one in which it was stationary and clean with a pretty seashore in the background? It has to be dirty and moving, meaning that must have been a permagrin moment for someone. |

Don't kill me but I would chose the Concourse14. That thing is almost seducing me to the dark side. |

For looks only (since I didn't get to ride all these) it's got to be the Buell XB12R, it's a bit ahead of the others as far as looks. The Scrambler would be my second choice. |
