Ok, I hate to bring this thread up again... but I have yet to get any communication from Spec Ops on the new email or old. Has anyone spoken to Odie or received a pipe from him in the last 2-3 weeks? Granted I don't have a lot of money out to him for the pipe compared to a D&D or a Drummer, but I am starting to wonder if I will see the pipe or the money. |

Are you using his new e-mail address? odmcc@wildblue.net Maybe try his cell phone (334)447-7051 If you already have, I'm all out of ideas. If Odie is hard to reach at the moment, I'm more than sure he's in a bind, a big one. I trust Odie with anything. I'm sure he has a good reason for any problems. |

Doesn't negate the fact he's out a pipe and $$. Sorry, but this really is something that Blake or even you Glitch as a moderator, should take care of. How quick everyone (most) here are to jump down some ones throat when the try to put an idea or product on here, and the thread is stopped. Then it's stated that unless you pay a sponsor fee you can't advertise. Rightfully so. It is a rule. However, you have a sponsor that does not return e-mails, phone calls, product or money. Does not tell anyone why this is. Doesn't state anywhere that they will be out of commission for X amount of time, and when people ask questions the answer is "there must be a good reason."? I think you guys owe more of an answer than that. Some one needs to look into what is going on. No need to be specific. But a time frame would be nice. Being that Blake is the one receiving sponsor money for this, and Odie seems unable or unwilling to reply, something needs to be done on the badwebs end. |

Glitch, I will try that number as a last resort. To Rocketsprink's comments, I have been very sensitive to his (Odie's) issues of late and latency in previous responses. At this point in time though, I too would like for someone (Blake, Glitch) to look into the issue and see if Badweb needs to reassess it relationship with SpecOps until the company can get its self together. If nothing else, I would like to have the money returned so I can sow it into another sponsor here (i.e. American Sport Bike, Trojan, etc...). I believe very much in the idea of grass roots support and have seen nothing but good things associated with Spec Ops, but this transaction, my first ever with Spec Ops has gone totally belly up and it is time to close it. I learned through life experiences that best form of governance is self governance and Bad Web is very good at it. I would ask that anyone that can help would help. |

You know Rocket, I hope you never get in a bind or that something that may be out of your control ever happens to you. Odie is a fine outstanding guy, and I am sure he has a very good reason for being out of touch. Funny how you just wait to pound the guy. This is one time I think you would be better served to keep your pie hole SHUT. |

If the guy's in a bind, as a businessman the least he can do is tell the people who have given him money for the product he is selling when they can expect either the product or a refund. The mans' character is not being questioned, mostly it's the way he is running his business which has people (rightfully, IMO) upset. All this drama is pushing me to a decision to support a different sponsor, as much as I like this particular vendors products. |

I was one of the first to do business with Odie... I later sold the pipe (I'm getting old and boring and less interested in annoying people), but the price and the product was more then fair. You get pro's and con's when dealing with a small one man business making handcrafted parts. I would think anyone here for any length of time would have understood what Special Ops is and what the strengths of the "company" are. You are right, based on your expectations, you should have had a Micron shipped via FedEx from a large established retail organization with a strong customer service focus. Brace your checkbook for impact though... |

This is one time I think you would be better served to keep your pie hole SHUT. all he's asking for is a response. he has sent a business (regardless of size) his money in exchange for a product. if odie is having all these issues, maybe he needs to shut down for a while and get his ducks in a row, and return money and pipes to people. it's common courtesy i think. people that have sent him pipes and money and been waiting patently for months for even an email are saints in my book. i work very hard for my money, and when i part with it, i like to think that i will get what i expected when i expected, or at least a little respect. people can flame me to death on this if they want, but i think what is going on here is WRONG!! it takes 2 minutes to post a message (he has his own forum!) or email pending customers or post something on his site. this guy, who i admit don't know may be a swell guy, but he's no business man. Vegas, if you think he's such a stand up guy, why don't you put your money where your mouth is. buy slowride a stock pipe to replace his kidnapped one and refund his money, then you can collect from odie. well, we're waiting.} |

I'll tell you what, if it's for an XB9, I'll send him one as soon as I get back to florida if he's willing to reimburse shipping once he gets it in his hands. I have my semi-modded stock pipe sitting at work. I'll be glad to help a brother out. |

I too have not heard from Odie regarding a purchase. I sent him money for an under seat heat barrier about a month ago and haven't gotten any responses to my emails. |

Just to clarify.... I haven't sent Odie my stock pipe. We worked out a deal that just involved and exchange of money. He would finish a pipe and send it to me and I would send him my stock core. Currently I am only out the money. Btw, the pipe is for a XB12X. Now, if I had sent my pipe in and at the rate it is going, had been down for almost 3 months.... I would have driven down to see Odie and picked up my stocker by now and the money in person. I personally am a "got to have it now" type of person. This whole experience has been a lesson, one I will take to heart. I will ask a lot more questions before another sponsor gets my money/business on Badweb. On a totally positive note! I have never had one issue with the Classified ads on Badweb and I have had one good experience with a sponsor.... (Darkhorse Moto) now he rocks! |

Ok y'all, it's time to stop and wait for Odie. I'll leave it to him to explain what's going on. Yes, I heard from him, and his explanation is plenty good enough for me. I knew/know Odie is trustworthy. Am I biased, maybe, but it has nothing to do with his sponsorship. Odie and I go back before he was a sponsor. So just chill out for a bit longer. |

Hey Vegas. Your last name describes you to the letter. I'm not pounding anyone. You believe it's GOOD business practice to ignore your customers? I'd hate to employ you with that attitude. You don't think that when some one spends money they don't deserve a reason as to what is taking so long for the product they bought in good faith to be delivered?I believe you're the one that needs to learn proper business practices, and also to shut yourblankety blank blank mouth. That was a little over board. your friend Glitch (Message edited by glitch on September 05, 2007) |

Glitch. I'm not trying to bad mouth Odie. Believe me. I've dealt with him and had no issues. No reason is needed as to why there is an issue. Just a time as to when he'll be back would suit me just fine. |

Glitch, I kind of felt like your tone was condescending. If you had pumped out your money to a vendor/sponsor that wasn't someone you know would you have waited almost three months before looking for other options and to boot.... not have any communication from them in the last 3 weeks. I am not looking for sympathy, but don't throw me attitude for working through the board to figure out what is going on. Btw, which seemed to be effective since you were able to get in touch with him and provided some sort of feedback, which I totally appreciate? |

I also ordered a pipe from Odie in May, I have been in contact with him at various points in the last 3 months and spoke with him yesterday. He explained to me whats going on and apologized about it taking so long and said he would hopefully get the pipe out sometime this week. I hope he has everything taken care of so he can get back on track I can't wait to get my pipe |

I talked to Odie this afternoon. He and his wife and family finally got moved into their "new to them" house. I'm sure he will be contacting anyone soon as he said today will be a "Special Ops Only" day. The first one he's had in a while. Being a self employed business man myself, things happen that are out of my control. I miss deadlines as well. I've tried to run my business 2 different ways- credit up front-HOPING to get paid and cash up front - so I don't get burned. Unfortunately, the cash/credit card up front way is the ONLY way I do business now. I got tired of chasing my money or parts all across the USA from people that just "forgot" to pay me. I AM NOT SAYING everyone is this way and the majority of badwebber's don't fall into this category, but it only takes 1 or 2 to ruin it for everyone else. I value my time as much as anyone else. IF I wanted to work for free, I'd be at a church or charity 24/7, but that doesn't pay the bills. Communication is key. But there are times when I don't have time to be "available". I have customers that call 2 and 3 times a day, everyday, checking on their parts, even though I just talked to them the day before. The amount of time I spend on the phone, or sitting at the computer is time I could be filling someone's order. Speaking of which, it's time for me to get back to work. |

Draxel I just received an email from Odie about my order as well and I must say I am very excited to know he is back up and running. Toona, I agree 100% that is why Odie got my money up front in June. I can honestly say I only contacted him about every 2 weeks. The only problem arose when it had been 3 weeks since our last communication and he stopped responding. I really hate to call a business and or owners when I can email them and let them respond to me when they can (i.e. in the evening, in the morning when coming into work, etc). Glitch, Thanks again for the communication to Odie! I sincerely appreciate it. (Message edited by slowride on September 05, 2007) |

I kind of felt like your tone was condescending. It comes from many many years of being a smart ass. It comes naturally. Seriously, Odie is a close friend of mine, and I may have come off that way, but not on purpose. I apologize. I'm just glad to hear that things seem to be getting worked out. |

Rocket, my attitude comes from being a business owner and dealing with the same crap you were laying out here. When I had my accident, the last thing on my mind or my wifes was whether or not something got mailed, shipped, or emails written. It was over a week before she was able to leave my side long enough to let our clients know what happened. Not one, and I mean not ONE email was "I hope something isn't wrong". It was nasty voicemails on the house phone and hateful "we'll leave bad feedback emails". Unfortunately, and yours is a prime example, even after my wife told some of these people that her husband was in the hospital clinging to life, they still did the "you have a business to run, I want a discount/freebie attitude". Yep, I am moody and I am full of attitude and opinions, especially when people take a stance on something with little or no facts. I am like that in my every day job, and it has earned the respect of everyone from the owner of my airline down to my subordinates. They know that I will stand up for what I believe in and what I think is right. They also know that I am gruff, but they know I won't candy coat anything. at any rate, I am glad it all worked out, and same goes for anyone else, if you need an XB9 pipe for whatever reason, you know where to find me. Vegas. Anyone that would give you crap after being informed of the situation you were in is an @sshole. I remember what happened to you. But at least you informed them there was a problem. The issue is Odie is giving little or no facts. Just a "due to circumstance beyond my control, I will be unavailable for x amount of time in which I will not be reachable or be able to ship any product. I hope to be back on-------." I don't think that's asking too much. Do you? |
