Does anybody have any suggestions for what type of seat has better padding (for the package!) than the stock seat on a 2000 X1? Has anyone used the gel pads (propad) on a stock seat with positive feedback? I hate to spend $250-$350 for a Buell custom seat or a Corbin if they don't improve the comfort level up front. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated..... Dave |

The Buell touring seat is a big improvement over the stock nut cracker. |

I could swear I just answered this exact same question by the exact same poster somewhere else. Un-Cool. |

Blake, take a chill,he's a new member and unaware of rules/etiquette of posting here.I would bet he was covering his bases--and also a very good friend of mine,so don't chase him off. |

Thanks Jim! Yes, I'm guilty of posting twice. I am sorry if that is incorrect. Not knowing the cool etiquette, I am just trying to find some help from experienced Buell Folks. Don't mean to make anyone mad, but Jim's right. Just because I'm new to the forum, doesn't mean I won't have something to contribute. Jim has been telling me how friendly and close knit the Buell family of riders are. I sure hope that it is true. Everyone here was once a newbie too. |

Welcome aboard DJ, Everyone is always a newbie because there's always something new to learn. And if you never accidently step on someone's toes then you're just not getting close enough.

I hear you on the seat. It's not so good. I have noticed two different seats on the X1's. One is a bit firm and offers good support but it "wiggles" in the area near the gas tank. The other seat, which is what I got is allot softer and fits snug to the bike, but it bottoms out and becomes a PITA after a few hundred miles. I sat on the Buell seat ($200) offered by the dealers and I thought it was just as soft as mine. So I don't know what the hell to do. The corbin is pricey and I've never been on one. I'm thinking about sticking through another summer, and then sending the stock seat out for a pad. unless of course that costs more than a corbin Aw hell, I may as well just buy a new bike now. Lemme know if you find something comfy / inexpensive. And welcome to the board... |

Thanks Joebuell and Mikej! I am seriously thinking of either the gel pad by Propad, or the Buell accessory seat. I will let you know how it shakes out. Hoser |

The Buell (custom color match) seat for the M2 is great. I got poor feedback on the Corbin, from dealer & riders, but a Badwebber just posted he had very good service from them, ( a smart company improves itself!) so it gets down to feel. I mass 230+ lbs, and the M2 accessory seat is good for a tankfull at a sit. (passenger comfort is far better than stock seat!) |
