Aaron has one bike in impound, Susan rode it to a new record. Aaron rode the nitro bike and qualified, but didn't have time to turn it around. Salt conditions are marginal. First hand report can be viewed at the LSR board. |

Just got off the phone with him . . . Suzy was up against a 146 record in 1350 MPG and ran a 158 in mush. Parasite weight was added to stop wheel-spin-run-rampant and she backed it up with a 150 into a 21 MPH headwind. The bike likely has 160 in it. Ron Dickey is on hand, so there'll likehy be news out of his camp. Aaron crusied to a 204, well short of what he's run before, and has parked the bike waiting for the salt to improve. The AckAttack streamliner, with the entire group watching, did a just shy of 300mph "pencil roll". Rocky came out under his own power and is fine. The diziness, can you imagine roling in a 20" diameter tube at 290MPH, should subside by Christmas. Best to all for a good, safe and fast time! |

End of the day report just in . . . got in the line at 0700 and ran at 1530, that gives you a sense of the crowd. Well Susan Wilson, on a unfaired 1350cc Buell, waxed a GXRR1100 (who ran low 150's WITH a fairing) and one of the fancy new Concours with that 1400cc motor . . in fact, Suzy made famed Valerie Thompson (of Go-Daddy fame) look slow in comparison. This is serious speed. On a mushy course Suzy banged out a 163, backed it up with a 159, generally made trash of the old 146 record, and claimed it at 161. Suzy, running in the 1350MPG class is currently outrunning the folks in 2000MPG . . there's a lot to be said for being aerodynamic. Aaron has the Fastest American Twin (it looks like at this point) in the bag but won't take the Buell S-2 back out until Wednesday when conditions are hoped to be improved. |
