"East Troy Ecstasy" Court, Is that drug available over the counter or do you need a prescription, and can we force medicate a few select individuals? |

There isn't going to be any PRODUCTION XB12's for a long, long time. Buell has never been interested in most horsepower or top speed. This price decrease is simply common sense. The newest and most innovative bike hits the market (any brand), people stand in line to over-pay for it. A year goes by, the newness wears off prices must decline. |

"There isn't going to be any PRODUCTION XB12's for a long, long time." We'll soon see won't we. You sound awfully certain of your opinion. "Buell has never been interested in most horsepower or top speed." RW750?... RR1000?... and who ever claimed a production XB12 would be king of horsepower or top speed? edited by blake on June 07, 2003 |

Damn, Now I gotta go through all the trouble and trade Em in. The XB is now in the price range I can afford. I'm willing to bet that a 984 to 1200 upgrade will be less than the difference in price. Think 883-1200. I hope ,I hope JT |

I am rather certain there will be! Jst, I dont know about an easily affordable upgrade. It will take more than just new jugs & pistons to get the XB to 1200 or close to it. Ask Aaron whats involved. The newest and most innovative bike hits the market (any brand), people stand in line to over-pay for it. Dave or Spidey need to come work at your local Buell dealer where folks are lined up. And to think they actually have to work for a living when they could just be standing there having folks throw money at their feet. |

My personal guess is that in the event Buell ADDS, rather than replaces, a 1200cc to the current 984cc offering that folks like DaveS will, just like they did with the "low" versions ply the offering as simply one more tool in their sales toolbox. The SALESMEN will view this as an opportunity to expand their potential client base. The snag the Father AND the Son on twin 1200 and 984 offerings. The small minded will point at Buell, mutter veiled remarks about woulda-coulda-shoulda in 1988 and continue to piss and moan about most elements of their lives. I'd love to see this broadened Buell range in the hands of the likes of Dave Steuve! Court |

My only beef with this is the presumed instant hit to resale value to current XB9 owners. I don't plan on selling it soon but if I had to, it is now worth at least $1000 less than it was on Thursday edited by bykergeek on June 08, 2003 |

Buell's next move, as a company, will be a sport tourer based on the same engine/frame/transmission assembly. This is a past niche they pursued with success. They are making strides to have more modular based bikes with bolt on bits differentiating the models. A decrease in price at this time is just good marketing. XB's rock. |

Got your pic BBRider. I've seen that same pic (black frame, black body, funky header) here a few weeks ago. Cannot recall it's original appearance though. Maybe in the Cool Pic archives. |

This is a past niche they pursued with success That was(past tense) there worst selling bike ever, i think, i do belive that the T model bike(1 of which i own) was not a good seller, and doubt they would bring it back, granted i would like them to, but they sold so few i dosnt seem that would make sence, but i hope your right Roger |

Maybe not necessarily a "T" bike, but like the Interceptor and most Sport Touring platforms, optional touring accessories can be made available. |

It's hard to sell a SportTourer in a Cruiser store, or so it would seem. For me I think I'd like to be haunting some backroads and other points of view around now. |

Here's the big question... If there does come to pass an XB12R, what will it be called? And would there then be a 600cc version of the Blast as well? edited by blake on June 10, 2003 |

I am surprised there has not been any hint of a lower end (pricewise) Cyclone XB9 model. It shouldn't take a lot of R&D to retrofit the tuber design for the current motor platform. A $7500 pricepoint would put them in the middle of the sport and naked bike market. |

Steve....The "White Lightening" is exactly what I'd expect. It would follow the Buell methodoligy. In 1998 they released the White Lighting as the "bigger" version of the original S1 not to mention adding to the S3. Then in 1999, they made the 101hp motor available in the other models. Geek....Buell will never return to the tube frames. It's time to move forward and leave the tubes to us old guys. As for the "T" model....I wouldn't trade mine for anything. However, it was their worst selling model. I'd think they'll offer some type of add-on options like Blake mentioned. Probably after the 2004 models (need the bigger motor first). Just my $.02 worth.} |

I don't expect to see a sport touring version of the XBs. I can see accessories being offered, but I think when people think sport touring, they think of something a little bigger and certainly more passenger friendly (at least I do, which is why I have an S3T). While I haven't ridden an XB with a passenger, I have a tough time thinking someone would be riding back there for long before getting a bit crabby. That's just my take. As for an XB12 platform, that's my guess as to what's coming but I don't think we'll see a 600 Blast if there is still the XB9. Whatever any of us think of the Blast, I believe HD really sees it as an entry level machine and if it got bigger displacement, it would just slow people down in terms of wanting to "step up" to a new bike (in the HD family, of course). |
