So this is a new thread off of my 'shipping a bike to Europe'... If I go, I'm going for good, so I'd be wrapping up everything here. This is like a 2 years away plan... I was looking at shipping and whatnot, and it's looking like maybe it's cheaper to fly Eric Buell over and have him make me a bike. I love my 98' S1WL. I know that some have even been bought in the US and shipped BY Euro' buyers back over, so does anyone know what prices are in Europe, since people there are shopping here (I'm told) in the US? Thanks, Rand |

May I ask why your leaving USA? If your enlisting, they'll ship it for you. |

No...Just getting out of here. I'm 4th Generation in California, and there's just WAAAY too many people here now... Over there, I'm closer to the flamenco-center-of-the-earth ( I play guitar for dancers and singers), and surfing with less crowds... And a slower lifestyle :-) |

Best prices in Europe is UK, BUT if you're going to live in another EU country you'll have to register it there, including changing the headlamp (dips the other way in UK) & maybe the speedo for one in km. Check ebay for rough guide prices, on the various national sites. |

KROK? Poutine? lol... Yes, you DO have great surf...and rain, mosquitos, black flies... However, Memorial University shows distinct possibilities for rejecting the Hermit life, at least for 9 months of the year, Mr. Frodo... Is 'Malibu's' still open? And who would I play for? http://www.current.tv/watch/12636055 Cheers! (Message edited by surf_boy on August 23, 2007) |

As a general reference, the very best price you could expect as a seller on a S1 in the UK would be for a totally stock S1W. An immaculate stock example would sell for £4000, maybe £4500 if two folks were bidding. A superb 01/02 X1 might go for £4000. Usually a typical 97 or 98 S1 in typical condition will sell for between £3000 and £3500. M2's go for as little as £2500 or less if in poor condition. I know of an S3 that sold for about £1600. Poor condition Buells often get broken up for the engines. Hope that helps you. Steve. |

Thanks, and yes. I think it may be cheaper to send my S1 there, by the time I get through with everything. I'm heading over in Sept. Think I'll look at prices in areas, see if there's a difference. Gracias... |
