For the first time in years I waxed a motorcycle. Oddly, I never did that to either of the Harleys I had--who wants to be a cliche?--nor to the Triumph Daytona I waited so long to own. I haven't done it since I sold the Firebolt, actually, and that was more than $35,000 worth of bikes ago. The bike I just Turtle Waxed is the el cheapo racetrack refugee I bought last spring, the same one that stranded me all across the country when I rode it out to Oklahoma and back, the one which I've had to constantly repair, including installing another engine. Which got me to thinking: how we feel toward our bikes really has nothing to do with their blue book value; I guess we all eventually end up on the bike that best reflects ourselves. We gravitate toward the tech and competency levels that we enjoy the most, then we lavish that bike with love and care regardless of its price. Funny how things work out... |

I wash her by running through the puddles, it wipes away the chunks ;) |

"I guess we all eventually end up on the bike that best reflects ourselves." You mean I'm the guy who's as much fun as you've ever had in your life... but your ears will ring and you might get stranded if you hang out with him? |

Riding in the rain removes bugs faster than scrubbing. |
