I have a 96 S1 in bright yellow(reactor??), and I have always hated the color. The previous owner told me it was a really rare color, and I have never seen another S1 in the yellow. Just how rare is it?? I now have a cracked tail section, after a yard sale accident(don't ask...nothing like your bike getting crashed when you aren't even on it.). I am thinking of changing the color, but I just wanna' know if I am ruining a rare classic. (I posed this question in the Knowledge Vault a couple years ago when I first came to the board with no results, so I thought I would try it here.) |

In 96 there were only three colors produced for the S1 Carbon Black High Voltage Yellow and Red Snap So yes there are other 96 yellow S1's But I can't tell you how many, maybe someone else can step up with them numbers. But in general S1's are become rare due to the "chopper" craze. |

I have seen one in quebec city but thats it and as far as rare well here in Canada you don't see Buell on every corner anyway so any buell is rare here. |

I'd like to see somebody start a database of S1 & S2 frame numbers to see how many of each are left, and what condition they are in. The Shelby American club did this years ago with the Shelbys and Cobras. |

Very rare, around here. I like that color a lot, by the way. You might try trading plastics with another S1 owner? As opposed to trying to paint over it... |
