and just to add in, Silver Eagle Buell is treating me good on a spare replacement belt. That way, I'll have a spare for mine,Kandie's or Bobbie's, whichever bike needs a belt next. |

it is fixed I installed the new belt, put on the windshield and stuck the pucks on this morning before I opened up. Who says archery and Buells don't mix? The UPS guy was kind of surprised when He walked in with a delivery! |

Dave, you put the older 2003 belt back on, right? Do you think it will hold up? I keep thinking mine is going to let go on some back country road with no cell phone service... |

yes, the 2003 style belt. I rode a 2003, rode it hard and never had any belt problems. The only one that ever broke was right after a tire change by a tech that normally didn't work on Buells. I'm sure it will be just fine. |

It's been sitting there taunting you all day. Is it time to lock the doors and go ride that thing yet? I'll bet Daves done come up missing already. "Anybody seen Dave?" "Hey! His bikes missing too!!" |

Nope, while it has been sitting here, calling me all day, but I am a workamaniac and am open til 7:00 tonight. Closing early is not an option in "Dave's world". Then I am driving my pickup home so I can get the branches off the roof (storm) Besides, Taos can't ride on a motorcycle and I have to take him to Bobbie's house for the weekend. I work all day tomorrow 8-5 I probably won't get to ride until Sunday. Next weekend I am taking Sat,Sun, and Monday off and Kandie and I are riding to KC for the weekend. |

Mature adult responsibilities just really get in the way, I know. But it's not THAT long till Sunday, so you can be sure any other bugs are worked out before you get too far from home next weekend. It's good you can get away for a bit, means your not COMPLETELY consumed with workamanical tendencies. You're going to have to get Taos a helmet and an education. He'd look good in goggles. Dave, Where's your shop? Maybe I can send some business your way. A few years ago one of my nephews placed second on the Iowa Pope and Young archery list with a 260 pound (field dressed)white tail. Greg |

Rot, This will be the first time I have gone anywhere without my laptop along so i can take care of all of you! Ok, maybe I will take my laptop, I am starting to get a following on a couple archery boards that I sponsor now. Don, the belt broke before I could even ride any wheelies. We will find out on Sunday. IaMike, I'd love to but I have a 3D shoot to go to in the morning out at Hickory Hills. State IBO shoot and I am taking a couple kids that are in league at the shop thru the course with me. Then we are going to go for a ride. Greg I am in La Porte City Iowa I PM'd you my web address to pass along. BTW, got my AAE nocks! Chad, What in the heck is the hold up? |

PS Greg, as i was on the floor working on my bike yesterday it reminded me of the time you and I put the V+H muffler on the Blast in my office at Buell of Waterloo. I could've used an extra pair of hands yesterday too. Where were you? |

Dave, They almost seem like they are too busy to work on it. The first excuse was they were waiting for parts, when all the parts they ordered were there... and now it's just him finding time to do it.(they are pretty busy) From what Andy said, he wanted to start on it either Thursday night or sometime on Friday. Well, I stopped Thursday night and it was still untouched. I'm going to probably check tomorrow to see if it's on one of the lifts getting fixed or not. Once they get started, it shouldn't take them long... taking old stuff off, and putting new stuff on. Keith said maybe next week it will be done, and I'll be happy if it is done the week after with the way things are going! I like to stop in every couple of days to light the fires a little. I'm there so much that some of the people that work there think that I work there!! |

Try talking to Terry Flynn. Be nice, tell him you just want your bike back. I am sure they are busy with Sturgis coming up but still. The parts are there, they should get your bike done. They are having Ernie do the work, right? That is who you want to work on your Buell. |

I'll have to talk to Terry on Monday. I've been nothing but nice to everyone through the entire ordeal, but I'm coming up to the last few nerves that I have! I'm not sure who is going to be doing the work on it, but I hope it is Ernie! I've heard nothing but really good things about him and his work. I stopped in there today and it was still untouched... so I think Terry and I will become new friends as of Monday! Thanks for the info and the help Dave! |

any time actually, they are all good techs there(at least as of Feb when i left) but Ernie is the best Buell tech. He used to work on my demo and I would take it out on the track without even checking things over. That is how much I trust Ernie's work. |

Good to know. When I talk to Terry on Monday, I'll ask if Ernie would be able to do the work on it. If not, it's no big deal. I usually give the bike a once-over after getting it back from having something done to it. Thanks again Dave! |

Well the shakedown ride went great! Filled her up with 93 octane gas, put air in the tires (they only had 25 lbs) When I was doing the belt the other day I found the suspension was all screwed up. The rear was set for a 130-140 lb rider with improper comp. and rebound damping. The front was set for a 225 lb rider, again with wrong settings for damping. I got all that fixed up, I still carry Shawn's suspension settings in my checkbook. The bike runs good and handles great now. It will wheelie. I NEED SOME CURVES NOW! |

Glad to hear all went well on the first ride after having to fix everything! Good news up here is that they moved my bike into the shop and started working on it. I didn't get a chance to talk to Terry Flynn since he was off today, but if they are working on it now, I don't think I will need to talk to him. I'm hoping it will be done the end of this week or next week sometime. They are still waiting on the clutch cable... (Message edited by chadr81 on July 24, 2007) |

Daves - I had no idea where your store was, but just yesterday I was helping a friend of mine get his brand new SV650 home from Leer's in Waterloo, and we were on 218. All of a sudden, I see your store! I'll have to swing by some time now that I know where it is. I thought your location was more rural than that (from pictures) but you are right there in town. How is that new bike working out for you? |
