I recall the announcement being that the dirt bike would be released within a year or two. That announcement was just a few months ago. |

Yep - a couple years for racing and development. Hope you didn't waste a hard-on but nobody was promised anything. There was the implication that they'd be raced but I don't recall anybody saying anything that coulda been implied as a promise. I love the idea that Buell is talking legitimate performance. Now all we gotta do is get Buell sales distanced from chrome, buttless chaps and leather tassels! |

I am supposed to pick up my 2007 city X tomorrow. I am paying msrp for it. Now I see the 2008 models are out on the Buell website. The 08 has some upgraded features but it also is a 25th anniversary model. Same msrp and claiming less expensive maintenance. What would you do? |

Wondering where the dirt bike went myself, infact I sold my WR a few weeks ago, looks like I had better find another brand. |

The obvious difference I saw was the oil pump. The 07's already have the new pinion gear for the old oil pump, I welcome the new oiling system and think it's a great improvement, but the 07's already have a very effective band-aid (good for 50k plus miles easy), and the 05 and ealier bikes have the earlier "flawed" system almost always work great for a really long time. So while I would take the new system if I could get it, I would not waste a lot of riding season waiting until it appears. On one hand, if I made a deal for a bike at MSRP to be picked up after the new models were announced, I would honor it. I paid MSRP for mine (plus a few extras and a good trade in valuation) and have no regrets. On the other hand, the deals not done yet. If I did feel the need to re-negiotiate, I would probably go in, say I am having second thoughts about the 07 versus 08, and ask them if they would throw in the lightning soft saddle bags and tail bag set. The 9sx makes a remarkably capable 1up sport touring rig when you throw on the soft luggage, far better then I would have thought possible (even I, a long time cool-aid drinker). The 05 9sx was an incredibly well sorted out bike, and the 06 and up bikes are even better (new tranny and new oil pump gear). Personally, I think the 05 to 06 changes were more important to owners then the 07 to 08 changes. |

Say those exact same things to the dealer, I'm certain they would be willing to re-negotiate the deal. I can't speak for Nebraska, but everywhere I've looked the dealers are very eager to move Buell's regardless of price. There are dealers that advertise on ebay and in the cycle trader online that sell at very discounted prices. If you pay full pop for the bike today, tomorrow you will be out thousands of dollars unless you are going to ride it until the wheels fall off. } |

goal is to turn it in when the warranty has expired with 50k miles on it. Then I will be nailing the new 09 TT on the dirty and bendy. +1 on just ride the hell out of the CityX. It is a great bike. |
