The countdown is over! The much awaited Triumph Street Triple was officially unveiled to over 5,000 Triumph owners on at the Triumph Tridays in Neukirchen, Austria. The Street Triple offers 675cc of pure, naked aggression, combining the streetfighter styling of its older brother, the Speed Triple, with the 675cc engine, chassis and performance of the award-winning Daytona 675. Genetically engineered by Triumph, the Street Triple is set to become the most desirable naked middleweight motorcycle in the market. Packing a powerful punch, 108PS to be exact, and 69Nm of effortless torque, the Street Triple is set to see off any naked middleweight competitor with ease, and quite a few of the heavyweights too. The proven 675 engine delivers strong low and midrange performance, from tickover to the redline, while the distinctive three cylinder feel, and unmistakable sound, offer an electrifying and emotive ride. The Street Triple’s aluminium frame and swingarm come directly from the Daytona 675, while the Nissin two pot sliding calipers with sintered pads (the same material as used on the Daytona 675) give braking power that is top of its class. The lightweight five-spoked wheels also come straight from the Daytona 675, with Dunlop Sportmax Qualifier tyres fitted as standard (120/70 ZR17 front and 180/55 ZR17 rear). Approved options are the Pirelli SuperCorsa Pro and the Bridgestone BT014 G. Lean and agile, the Street Triple is equipped with Kayaba suspension front and rear, with rear preload adjustment, giving class leading handling. The low dual seat and new footrests and handlebars provide a comfortable riding position for rider and pillion without jeopardising the aggressive streetfighter styling of the bike. The headlights echo the distinctive units used on the Speed Triple, while the comprehensive instrument console shares the same functionality as that on the Daytona 675 but is restyled to fit neatly within the lines of the Street Triple. Key Specifications: • 675cc, fuel injected, water-cooled, three-cylinder, 12-valve engine • 6-speed, close ratio gear box • Kayaba suspension front and rear • Nissin 2 piston front brakes / single piston rear • 800mm seat height / 167kg dry weight • 17.4 litres (4.6 US gallons) fuel capacity • 24.3º rake and 95.3mm trail • Instrument display functions include LCD speedo and tacho dial, trip computer, odo and clock, lap timer with 99 lap memory and gear position indicator • Maximum power: 108PS (107bhp) at 11700rpm • Maximum torque: 69Nm (51ft.lbf) at 9100rpm • Available in Jet Black, Fusion White and Roulette Green www.triumphstreettriple.com sorry , i know i'm a triumph guy on a buell board , but been reevaluating my my motorcycle needs and wants and i've been awaiting the release of this . |

Like the looks, but the power isn't there. I'd stick with the Buell. But I am biased. If I had to ride naked style street fighter other than Buell it would be a BMW twin. http://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/bikes/bike.jsp?b=r12 00r http://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/bikes/bike.jsp?b=r12 00s |

max hp specs can be decieving . same motor as the daytona 675 detuned by 18 hp . would imagine it's for a reason , like being more streetable . only brought it up here because we talk about a lot of dif bikes . really like that folks other than the japanese are giving them a run for the money . |

I like it! I also like the older Speed triple. I'm glad someone is giving the 600 class a run for its money. Tired of hearing about Jap 6's that rev to 20 million or so and have to be wrung by they're necks to make power and torque. |

UK price is also a whopping GBP2000 (US$4000) cheaper than the current Buell range! That is a lot of accessories and will be a very attractive proposition for people looking for a naked streetfighter type bike. Like the looks, but the power isn't there. I'd stick with the Buell. But I am biased. 107bhp is more than your Buell puts out, so it is hardly underpowered, especially as it would be very easy to bring it up to the same levels as the 675 Daytona. |

I don't post often but seeing that I own a Firebolt and a Daytona 675 I thought I would chime in. The 675 triple is an awesome engine that really makes some power almost on par with a GSXR 750. I really love my Buell for getting around town, but since I broke the belt I have been putting some miles on the Daytona and fiddling with the suspension some and I am more and more impressed everytime I ride it. I have very few complaints and with a little money will have none at all. The Buell is still my favorite though just too much soul to ignore!! |

107bhp is more than your Buell puts out, so it is hardly underpowered 69Nm of effortless torque 69nm is actually around 50ft'lbs of torque. Don't neglect the torque ratings. And you don't know my Buell. Xb stage 3 dome heads, CP 30 degree piston, N80 Cams, Force intake, Force exhaust, adjustable pushrods, HSR42 car, twintec ignition.......... It's safe to say my buell makes a wee bit more than 107bhp. Underpowered when compared to Jap Bikes (edit I am wrong on that.) And it lacks the torque to compare to a Buell. But if its a simple detuning version then I am sure it could be modded to make easy power increases. (Message edited by ryker77 on July 06, 2007) (Message edited by ryker77 on July 06, 2007) |

Ryker, That BMW is one butt ugly motorcycle But I'd like one just the same. I learned to ride on the street on an R90/6. One of these days I'm going to get a air-head for the stable. The Triumph is pretty damn cool. Its cool to see another offering in the "stock" streetfighter arena. Hopefully I get to demo one at Mid Ohio (and that BMW too!) Too many friggin bikes, not enough time! |

"Underpowered when compared to Jap Bikes." TQ and HP it generates about the same as the jap 600's with its extra 67 cc's |

I guess it's natural to compare other bikes to Buells on this board but that's not the market share the Street Triple is aimed at. Based on the style, size, and low buck brakes and suspension I'd say Triumph is looking to compete with SV650's and Kawasaki 650's. |

Aaannd...how much extra cash did those mods. cost??? Didn't cost me much at all. Since I bought the bike allready set up. Just the carb and ingntion is what I've done. But I see your point. Still if I wanted a hooligan type bike - other than Buell. It would be a BMW or a Duc. I like my twins! |

I'm still waiting for them to put that 1050cc engine in a Daytona. When they do, I'll probably buy one. |

But, aesthetically speaking, I can't get past the Telever front end. If you ever ride one your view might change. Soo butter smooth - train tracks and bridge crossings are nothing. The Anti dive braking properties is also nice. Granted I don't race so my .02 might vary. |

my other choice was a speed four, but i had to more or less buy it before they'd give a test ride...hence the Buell, but i like the looks of the 'speeds ! (Message edited by ted on July 06, 2007) |
