Right down the road from where I live, I know "of" some of these guys (just one reason I dont ride with them). The story is he was tailgating, swerving and whatnot to try to get around, then the beating on his car begins, then he runs a couple of them down and thats when the gun comes out.

"a car almost ran me over so i broke its mirror off them it almost rear ended someone in a wheelie...when someone came up to the side of it the car changed all three lanes and slammed the bike into the gaurd rail the rider flew over the median into on coming traffic...he is alright! then another rider came up on the right side of the car and the car swirved and hit him and he immediately went down...minor road rash! then the wrest of the group chased the guy threw town kicking, beating, punching, and one guy was shooting at the car til the car pulled into the police station!"

You should read the whole discussion
http://www.dallasriders.com/viewtopic.php?t=12965& postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=25
It isn't necessarily in English...helps to speak e-thug.

I don't get that lifestyle. Wheelies are fun once in a blue moon, out of boredom, for my own enjoyment, then it's over. But to do it over and over all night long, week after week, month after month, year after year...they're not that that damn fun. Get a life...

It's like they're saying, "Mommy, mommy...look at me. Do you see me, mommy? Mommy?" Only doing it to impress they're boyfriends really.

DSR are the LCD.

My guess is

A- dumb __________- playing in traffic at a busy time blocking lanes - upset the cager.

b- Cager attempted to squezze by either in the lane or using the break down lane

c- biker saw this at an attack and kicked the mirror

d- cager didn't know what happened and mistakenly swerved into another biker "across three lanes OR cager saw the kick as an attack and used his car as a weapon

Bikers iniated the bad events but the cager used his car as a weapon if he went across three lanes to push a biker into the rail.

Also I doubt the bikers were doing any less than the speedlimit so legally no cars should have been backed up behind them or be trying to squezze into the mix. I used to live in Atl and its common that if you don't drive/ride 10+mph OVER the speedlimit you'll get run over.

You see this more and more in urban areas. The thrill seems to be in doing these stunts in/around traffic. Too many of our fellow riders are willing to be very forgiving of riders such as these.

We already have an extremely high death toll on weekends in the two main mountain run areas (Palomar and Angeles Crest) Double fine zones mean it's not unusual to have traffic fines well over $1000 WITHOUT having "reckless" added to it.

We're knowingly bringing this down on our own heads and beyotching as if we don't see it coming.

Reading thru some of the posts it seems as if some posters are getting on their cases.
Thought this was cute:

Pretty soon there will be legislation regulating the maximum number of riders who can be in a group, then it will expand to car clubs, then bicyclists (already have that to some extent), then pedestrians. Just call it anti-anarchy legislation, kind of like legislating stupidity.

Looks like they know they're being watched:

quote:

id be more concerned about johnny law keeping an eye out than the "new gang"

(i know you're joking, but as we proved w/ the mototrix board ... 5.0 patrols these just like they do the streets)

Oh well, the circle of life, get old enough to get some independant freedom, do some stupid stuff, grow up the rest of the way if you survive. The road is for riding, the track is for racing, the playground is for playing. Perhaps they should go find an after hours industrial park to play in, that's what we used to do when I was younger and into drag racing a bit.

Slaughter,
I just saw part of a blurb on the local news last night that I think California is now seizing and crushing cars if they are caught racing, showed one getting crushed. Are they doing that now? And if so how do they get away with it? No wonder so many try to run instead of stop, and no wonder some police are appreciative when you do stop sometimes before they even turn their lights on.

The squids are getting thick around hear too, they're getting more brave as well, ever since the metro area police now have a no chase policy.

Announcing a no chase policy is a mistake in my opinion. It invites fleeing. I want lawbreakers to think that fleeing is risky being pursued and caught is always a possibility.

Allowing pursuit puts a heavy load of responsibility on LEO's involved but they've never had an easy job. I'm for good communications, air support, and just good old tough cops doing their jobs.

LOL! I read about 5 pages into that thread, and looks like everyone but the guilty party thought it was a thing to do. Silly squid!

They seem especially disturbed about an individual packing heat while riding.

I agree with the no chase policy.

My life should not be placed in danger becuase a cop/ country government wants to hand out a 100.00 speeding ticket.

Pull up behind the bike, turn camera onto the license plate then to the rider. Turn on blue lights and keep recording. If they run - knock on there front door the next day.

Don't endanger my life for a 100.00 speeding ticket. Don't see how sending several 4000lbs cars zooming down the roads at 20-50MPH OVER the speed limit justifies anything but major crimes.

Whew! Okay, I read ALL 20 pages of that thread! Apparently the "gang" DSR meets regularly at Sonic, and one or two members have been posting threats toward anyone calling them idiots (upstanding citizens, no?). So being big and ballsey, they dared anyone to say it to their face TONIGHT. About 6 people or so are taking them up on it. Of course, nothing's going to happen because the police have been patrolling the Sonic like mad (too many punks in one place, obviously). I think they just want to see who the dorks are that caused all the trouble in the 1st place.

Funny stuff! Can't wait to see tomorrow's posts!

Announcing a no chase policy is a mistake in my opinion.
It wasn't announced.
Word got out (it happens) some squids decided to bait the police to see if it was true.
Proved to be true in four counties so far.
I just hope the police figure out they're being baited, and use radio to catch the squids.
Take the picture, and wait for him to come home.
Only problem with that is (around here) they tuck their tags in the undertray so you can't really see 'em.
While they're out baiting police, they don't have their tags mounted.

Rumors are around that the no-chase policies are being revised to a selected chase policy. In the mean time Orwellian anti-crime cameras are being installed in select cities and select areas.

We got red light cameras now, but they're being challenged in court.
It seems that while red light runners numbers have decreased, the number of rear enders at red lights has sky rocketed.

There are a bunch around Dallas that have swivel plate backings on a motor that will fold up, down, ect.. Mainly for the tollway I believe.
