Hi, I'm looking for some information about track day schools "close" to Arizona (that YOU have personally experienced). Information such as where (California, Vegas etc.), the cost, is a bike provided and what you thought. This isn't for me, I'm to freaking old and broke down, rather for a student in one of my classes that I teach. I need this "basic" information by Thursday evening if possible. Thanks, -SD: |

http://www.trackexperience.com - I have friends who instruct and a friend who started it (Todd Robinson). Top of the line without going to a full-flight track school like Pridmore Code or Spencer. Good instructor/student ratio. Structured instruction. Good "squid filter" http://www.fastrackriders.com - Jeff Dixon (who occasionally races my bike) is an instructor with them. Another top knotch group. Good instructor/student ratio - also a good "squid filter" http://www.trackdaz.com - the cheapest of the good track day operations. Run by WSMC racers but not instructors per se - though they do have one or two guys out on course just to watch over things. If you pay any less for track day operations here in CA (you CAN pay less) - they usually cut down on cornerworkers/flag operators or mix classes - both of which contribute to higher accident rates. The 3 above generally charge close to $150-200 per day depending on which track. Check sites for pricing. Tell any of them that Slaughter referred you. They'll probably charge you double! None of the above provide bikes. Keith Code does and Pridmore provides bikes. Their courses are more pricey http://www.californiasuperbikeschool.com http://www.starmotorcycle.com/ (Message edited by slaughter on June 14, 2007) |

I've done both Pridmore and Code's classes. Although I had a lot of fun in Pridmore's C.L.A.S.S., I learned a LOT more in Code's California Superbike School. When did Pridmore start providing bikes? He certainly didn't when I took the course. Oh wait... WRONG Pridmore! You're talking about Jason! I was referring to his old man Reg! Sorry 'bout that! I've never taken S.T.A.R... |
