How many Buell Owners are into Motorcycle Racing? I for one would love to see Buell (or even Harl.... wait are they the same IDK im confused? ) in MotoGP. With all the talk about new models I think we would benefit from having them develop race bikes, and having the tech trickle down to the street bikes. To me Buell is about Performance and not about looks or an image like Harley. What do you guys think? |

Over the last 2 years I have really gotten into ama, fima and moto gp. A major factor is that I purchased the Speed Channel(now they only need to show more racing). I wish I new about it sooner because car racing doesn't even compare to MC roadracing. If you haven't seen it, There are usually races on Speed on Tuesdays and Sundays. Check it out! |

OH! It would be nice to see some more Buells in more classes but I believe in the future, Buell Racing will grow into something bright and prosperus and something to be proud of! GO Buell!! |

you wanna watch Racing with a capital RACE, check out a flattrack in your neck of the woods -- if MotoGP had competition this close, it would rule the world! |

Dave, Thank you for the work you have done on those pages I found them googling around and thought I saw your name somewhere. Excellent work. I really liked reading about Buell Racing History I have watched flat track racing a bunch when I was younger, Especially when Carr was running. But thats more of a Harley thing no? I cant see the trilogy of tech helping much on that track. (Message edited by staindus on May 24, 2007) |

ooh ooh did someone say motorcycle racing? where?....where? A bunch of us are completely gonzo, over-the-top crazy about racing and seem to spend every free moment, and every penny we have racing. Be careful, racing is addictive and it will take over every aspect of your life. That is no joke. |

Motorcycle racing makes NASCAR look like a kiddy car ride at Disney Snat. Buell racing is the best form of motorcycle racing. I love it. (Message edited by jimidan on May 26, 2007) |

I love Moto GP and I love Buell but I don't really see Buell performing well in Moto GP. I know GP bikes aren't anywhere close to the production bikes you and I get to ride but it seems like the big names in GP (Honda, Yamaha, etc...) have a pretty good grasp on that sport. That and from what I hear Buell dosn't even want to help support it's AMA teams or smaller teams let alone fund a GP team. Those bikes are expensive. But, it dosn't hurt to dream. |

kano, you've never been to an ASRA or CCS race and had Henry Duga right there with the parts you need to get back on the track if you think Buell isn't there to support racing. When my brother and I were racing a suzuki no one from the factory knew our names or that of any of the privateers when the chips were down. If you weren't on the factory team all you were doing was giving them free advertising. Not so with Buell. Henry knows everyone on our team, and every other Buell team at the track by name. Buell racing is still in it's infancy, but it will grow. Right now Buell sells 1/3 or so as many bikes as Ducati. As that gap closes Buell involvement will increase. Erik himself is a racer and he knows the level of commitment it takes to get out and race. People got a little...overstimulated...when the RR was released and the expectations were perhaps a little too high for an entry level project. Give them time and they will produce what everyone here wants to see, I don't think Erik wants to rush into it half-assed.} |

And to add to that, in the new MotoST series, Buells ARE very competetive. And that's endurance racing, 3 hour and 8 hour races. Don't think Buell isn't gaining some knowledge there? If you didn't read it, a XBRR finished the Daytona 200 this year and beat the factory Honda's! So the racing at Buell is strong and more racers are noticing this too Just keep watching! (and maybe join us!) |

Diablo, thank you for clarifying. I don't have first hand experience and was just going off some previous articles I've read. I'd love to see Buell in Moto GP but I just don't see it anytime soon. -Barge P.S. Between the full time job and being in a band I don't have time to get into racing. Wish I did. Been trying to learn to snowboard for the last 3 years and I've never been to a mountain if that tells you how much free time I have. |

I hope to have the 12 in Heavyweight twins with WERA next season, I was watching lap times and even though their bikes are faster, the guys in novice are not that fast. Shred is racing in the lightweight twins and formula 2 on a duc 800ss this year, maybe he will finish up on a Buell, who knows. |
