i am sure just about everyone here knows the lollipop song. lollipop, lollipop oh lolli lollipop lollipop "pop" well that "pop" sound is exactly what i heard out of my front suspension yesterday. i was on my way home thru the back roads and my front wheel got up off the ground on this lil road bump. when the front end came down i heard the "pop" sound. thinking i may have blown the bead on the front tire i kept a close eye on it the rest of the way home. nothing was wrong by the end of my ride, so i did not think anything of it. well i went out to get a bite to eat and when i turned in to the parking lot i hit the parking lot apron curb (2" high) and i hear the "pop" sound. any idea what this could be. the bike ran smooth this morning on my commute to work. now you all have that song in your head. don't ya? |

Steering head may be loose and when you hit the bump, its popping the the steering head against the top/bottom triple clamp. Lift the front of the bike off the ground and check for play in the forks/wheel bearings just to be safe. |

Bottomed out suspension? I ride a cg, which will bottom out fairly easily. It makes the "pop" sound when it does. Not sure if it's fork noise or my steering dampener kissing the fender at full compression. |
