this auction is from Newfie_Buell - thx Bill!!! Jerry, I don't know how much interest this will get but I'll throw in a 5-day, 4-night stay in my seaside cottage here in Newfoundland. Winner is responsible for their own food, and transportation to and from the island.
This is a seven-day auction ending next Tuesday May 22, 2007 at 10 p.m (BadWeB (Eastern) time, but will continue beyond that time if there is bid activity within one hour of auction end. Once there is one hour of bid inactivity at any time after 10 p.m. May 22, the auction will be considered over. Good luck, bid often, and remember: This is for Matt Ware and his family. |

Newfie, Just to get a bit more info... Riding wise, from St. Johns to the cottage, how far are we talking? Or, if flying into St. Johns, what is the availability of getting a rental car to get there? You know darn well I am interested, Newfoundland is one of the coolest places I've ever been, and maybe not a lot of people here know a whole lot about the place... Prior |

Alex, it's about 75miles from St Johns about 1h20 to 1h30. I rented a (horrible) chrysler sebring while we were there at easter, cost me about 500 bucks for the 2 weeks. By the way, the second week we were there at Easter the bay that you can see in Bills photos was full, & I mean full, of pack ice! Spectacular is an understatement. |

Sorry to say that this auction has ended with no bids. Newfie - thank you for your generous offer. Wish we could have taken you up on your offer. |

Bill, it isn't that people don't want to take you up on your generous offer, of course, and i sure appreciate you trying to raise additional money for Matt's trust fund. i think you and Alex need to get together and plan an assault on your place for next year, and invite all of us. now that me 'n D live several thousand miles closer to Newfoundland, it sure increases the odds that we could finally "own" a piece of the rock! also, i still need to visit Garrison Guitars and get that custom 12-string ordered... anyway, we all REALLY appreciate your gesture - offering up one's home to someone else is not to be taken lightly, and please know that we appreciate it. If the kids were older and out of the house, I would have been all over it. Even with the kids, I was thinking pretty hard about it. Just can't afford the plane... I'll just echo the thanks for the generous offer... it would have been something very special, and I regret not being in a position to take advantage of it. |

Too bad folks, Ask Prior and Mr. Grumpy what this place is all about. Yes Blake guided tours would have been mandatory and an excuse for me to take a week off work. Jerry your only about 4 days away now......anytime |

Newfoundland holds a place in my heart as one of the coolest places I've ever visited, with some of the friendliest people I've every partied and spent time with. St. Johns is not only beautiful, as is the whole island, but is a culture of it's own and just plain kicks ass. Dildo was awesome too, you're got to go on Dildo Days though. Puffin Muffin? |
