folks - back in early 2004 i did an auction here on BadWeB to benefit Matt Ware, back when Alex Prior was first dreaming and scheming about doing his epic "Ride Across North America" to raise funds for the American Cancer Society in Matt's name. i auctioned off some of my most cherished Buell treasures, we had a lot of fun with the deal, and in the end we added over a thousand dollars to Alex's contribution to the ACS. well, this time EVERBODY gets to be an auctioneer, and this time the money generated - every penny of it - goes to the "Matt Ware Benevolent Trust" to help Matt's family deal with their overwhelming medical bills as a result of Matt's terminal brain cancer. we have Blake's full blessing to do this, which, thus, makes this a great time to say, "THANKS BLAKE!!!" do you have something cool in your Buell collection that you'd be willing to give up for a good cause? i know I do. i just spent several hours going thru my stuff, and i'm excited about the prospect of making some sales and helping out some good folks who could really use a helping hand right now. to be honest, i'm making all this up as i go. i'm gonna wing it to start, knowing that if i goober up too bad, y'all will let me know. i encourage ALL of you to join in the fun! use the "Start New Thread" link above to start your own auction. you're in charge, and you can run your show any way you see fit. there are just a couple of rules: -- ALL auction proceeds - 100% - MUST be donated to Matt's trust fund. we're not doing this for profit, we're doing this for charity. -- the winning bidder MUST send his/her PayPal or check payment to Kristi/Ulywife at the address in the header at the top of this page, NOT to the seller. -- the seller does NOT ship product to the winning bidder until they are notified by Kristi that she has money in hand. despite everyone's best intentions, i think a few lucky bidders snagged some of my stuff last time without following thru on their end with their payment to Alex. that ain't happenin' this time, bubba. -- it'd be cool if the seller could "donate" the shipping charge/s for their item/s, too, but if this causes you some angst, please work something out with the buyer. also, i don't know about you, but i don't like buying something unless i can at least look at a photo or two of the item first. in other words: a picture is worth a thousand words. i'm sure there's a ton of stuff i'm forgetting or omitting, but we can fine-tune this as we go. the important thing is that we get started. the Ware Family is in need, and WE can help. and have a lot of fun in the process. i'm gonna start my first two auctions at oh-dark-thirty tomorrow morning. if anyone wants to get the jump on me and start an auction BEFORE then, you have my blessings. peeps, i've said it before and i'm saying it again: this is a great place to call home. thank you for listening, and happy bidding! ps: if any of you high-roller "corporate types" who lurk here on BadWeB want to sell or bid on something but don't wanna blow your cover, no worries. contact Kristi via PM and she'll sell or bid for you via proxy, allowing you to remain anonymous. Kristi's word is gold. if you wanna play by proxy, either silent selling or silent bidding, let her know. FB (Message edited by jerry_haughton on May 06, 2007) |

I will assign Item Numbers once you post an auction. This will allow me to better track items up for bid. Silent bidders/sellers......drop me a line and I'll set you up! Thanks, Kristi |

Kristi, I added a CityX rubber "X" to the list. I skipped #21, because there are two #20 items. I also posted the same minute as the '88 edition of Harley Rider by Madduck, sorry for any confusion. Dan |

Got it covered! Got my custodian pass just in time to take care of all of this! (Think Blake saw lots of work coming his way, so this was easier!!) FYI - if everyone will just post their item, I'll number them! }Thanks, Kristi (Message edited by Ulywife on May 09, 2007) |

I just did a bit of quick math with the items that are listed, and the total comes to $1699! Way to go Badweb! Thanks to all who have donated things and to all those who have placed bids! A few of these have just one bid, and there is some great stuff here! Keep on going! I'm riding up tomorrow to spend the day with the Wares and a ton of other friends I've not seen in a while to begin the celebration of Matt's life. I'll give them all the best from Badweb, you guys and gals are fantastic. We are truly blessed to have the community and friendship we do. Alex |

Hey . . . I wanna play. I'm sending some stuff to Kristi tomorrow (Happy Mother's Day Kristi!!) to be included. She and Jerry can decide how to package the stuff. I've looked evrywhere and know I have a package of the S1WL Canvas totes, but I'll be damned if I can find them. . . I did find a box of unopened S-2 shirts . . yeah, they were the give aways (who remembers "I Came To My Senses" . . . I'll keep digging. . . anyway . . . here's a glimpse.... I'll let her package and promote as best she sees fit.
RARE. . you bet yer ass. . get caught with these and yikes. . . my only saving grace is that I used a PERSONAL photo I took
RARE. . you bet yer ass. . FOUND'EM! . . these 4 glossy prints were sent in packages (yes, you get the package marked DEALER PRINCIPAL ONLY. . were sent to unveil the Rainbow Paint program.
RARE. . kinda. . Autographed CityX poster. . quite cool in my opinion. I have the "STWD" shirts that Buell's attorneys squashed . . but I can't find'em. . this is one of my favorite posters.
RARE. . you bet yer ass. . I call tell you where each and every one of these EVER made is. . this one is an XL. I have a couple XXL's if the winning bidder is largish. CAVEAT: The XXL's got put through the washer today after taking a dose of Court's coffee I'll dig about some more. . . I'd love to see Ferris hand the Ware's a check for about $10K. |

Thanks Court! I'll let you know when i get your package. I 2nd the $10K check - that would be cool. We are over 1/2 way there right now between monetary donations and top bids on auction items! Who else has something hiding in their basement or garage you're willing to part with for a good cause? Thanks again to everyone who is participating. Kristi |

(btw, i know of something VERY cool that will go on the auction block Monday morning, something TOTALLY tubular...) folks, we're half way there. Mitch and Lori laid their son to rest today, and i can't imagine what they're going thru right now. let's continue to show them that we care. y'all ROCK!!! FB&D |

Kristi: Packages away and I have good news. . . in my continued excavation into boxes . . . I found the coolest of the cool from the THUNDERBOLTS 2006 "SAVE THE MUSIC" TOUR. I'm thinking that if I were a person going to Homecoming and was going to see the band on Thursday night . . . yeah, well I'd want this baby signed by both Erik's and both Ed's along with something else that will likely be there to be signed as well. Times are good! This baby is an XXL and has the famous "Ulysses riding out of Gotham on a guitar fretboard" done by Shandon Walker. I'm doubting you'll run into many of these! Badweb. . on the way to all $10K
