ladies and gents, volume 1, issue 1 of Battle 2win magazine, just as cherry as they come. it spends its life in an archival plastic sleeve, and is the ONLY copy of this issue i have left.
Court Canfield? the name sounds familiar...
speaking of Court...
a four-page spread on the first "Blue Groove."
that's former Hot Bike editor Howard Kelly abusing the S2 T'bolt in the front, and yours truly (on the S2 formerly known as the BLURR...) keeping my distance. Howie is crazy...but in a good way...
Clement Salvadori? anybody heard of him??
Barney!!!
the late, GREAT, Fran Crane. ride in peace.
back cover. This is a seven-day auction ending next Sunday May 13, 2007 at 10 p.m Eastern time, but will continue beyond that time if there is bid activity within one hour of auction end. Once there is one hour of inactivity at any time after 10 p.m. May 13th, the auction will be considered over. I will pay for shipping*, so consider this when bidding. There are no other fees; what you bid is what you pay. Good luck, bid often, and remember: This is for Matt Ware and his family. *(Unless you are overseas. I am happy to ship to you, however, due to the cost of shipping overseas you will be required to pay for such shipping.) (Message edited by jerry_haughton on May 06, 2007) |

That was a great issue of Battle2Win. I found, whilst digging the other day, all of my pictures taken over those several days we were all hanging out in the Scott's Valley area. Great memories, great fun to have written and still great fun to read. The big mags would never get away with that stuff!

SOOOOO Court.....Is there a COPY of your Picture album up for grabs????????????????

My "picture album" consists of 4 Rubbermaid LARGE plastic cases with something approaching 5,000 - 10,000 pictures. It's occurred to me that a housefire would save me a lot of work . . . but alas, a contractual obligation and events on tap for this summer (in fact, commencing tomorrow) have conspired to force my hand. Could be scary . . . Curious George now lives forever at Casa de Buell. After last years back to back performances by the Master of Mayhem. . I could no longer compete!

My Pleasure I have been looking for the fist issue for years. I have always been a Buell fan since 97 but finally bit the bullet in 99 after buying the Philip Stark Aprilia MOTO65. I bought an S1W. I so wanted this magazine, now have a complete collection. The best part I have given to good cause. I do hope one day there is a cure for all forms of cancer its such a horrible disease. I wish the family well in these tuff times. Good Luck Darren |

Darren: I'm not sure if you have ever read that first issue. . . but if you haven't you are in for a treat! I'll tell you in advance it was just as much fun to write as it is to read. Those were really fun times and Reg did something with the Battle2Win that I've never seen another publication even come close to. . . Congratulations and thanks for supporting a good cause. Court |

Darren, i got confirmation from Kristi of your PayPal payment for the B2win (thanks for covering the PayPal fee :-), and wanted to let you know the mag is on its way! it left Fancy Gap, Virginia, USA yesterday afternoon via United States Postal Service (USPS) Priority Airmail, insured for $300. the USPS "Customs Declaration and Dispatch Note" number is CP123080512US. i paid the $29.10 postage and insurance fee from my own funds, so your entire PayPal payment of $170.00, less their fee of $6.93, is going directly into Matt's trust fund. please ping me when the magazine arrives, and thx again for helping out the Ware Family!!! ride to lean, Ferris Bueller |
