Ok, well, being I live the barracks here on Ft. Gordon I have to keep my baby outside. So, I got it a cover. Now, the last few days it's been really windy outside. I'm a tad bit worried about the covering becoming a sail and pulling my bike over when the winds kick up. Anyone have anything they do to stabolize their bike with a cover? I know I know, take it off, but I was thinking about when I might not be around and it kicks up. |

tie downs and ground hooks, One of my neighbours had an xb12s go over in a high wind, foot peg and cosmetic damage, Me I am worried that my sled may go over too, and I just got the cover. under Hurricane conditions I wiggle it under the stair well, but at no other time and I check on it from time to time during the storm. |

I'm thinking a 50ft roll of parachute cord (always a use for the left-over) and some plastic gallon water bottles. You may have to sew a few cloth tabs on the bottom edge. Tie the bottles to the tabs. At 8.3 lbs/gal, two should work, and four would be lots. Hope this helps! Dave |

I bought one of these. http://www.cycleshell.com/index.html The man who builds them says he's had reports from folks in Florida that say it survived hurricane force winds. |

The problem I have seen from bike covers is not the wind causing them to act as a sail, but the cover becoming abrasive. Any material that is allowed to flap in the wind will do damage to the bikes finish. |

Don't know how much wind you have where you are but our wind can blow the bikes over. Not kidding. My first "crash" on my S3 was without a rider. People started coming in to where I was working to tell me the bike fell over... thought they were kidding til I finally looked! |

While that cover shell looks good it is pricey. Hmmm... Have to discuss this with some other riders here. |
