I was thinking as the video went along, wow it would be cool if the engine actually ran. Then no way it is fully functional, Totally amazing. |

I watched it and it kinda made me sad. Definately cool and he is a sick engineer, but there is something sad about the whole thing. or just nuts. |

Yeah the sad part is the guy seems to be broke and not from building the car. A guy that talented should have a very nice paying job. |

i watched a whole show on this guy and that car. he not only had to scale the parts down but had to make some of the machines to make the parts. either he is single or has a very understanding wife. but all in all a simply amazing job |

Let's stuff some high-torque servos and a receiver in there and see what she'll do! I love R/C cars! That would be a LOT of fun! Definitely not a "parking lot" racer, though... |

Why didn't he just make it full size???? Sure there would be some patent issues, but make a few changes and.......drive it like you made it! |

This one is interesting. It's a scaled-down supercharged V-8 drag motor. Sounds just like the real thing, too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3VVI6Auvys |

I'm not sure if my perception of the video was clouded by reading these posts or not.... Amazing acheivement for a schmoe. We should all strive for such goals. But I couldn't help but feel saddened the whole time I watched. Somebody find this guy a gig outside of telecom. Surely SOMEONE can make use of his talents. -Saro |

I posted the link to the guys website a couple of years ago. Here it is again. http://www.weberprecision.com/ I exchanged a couple of emails with him, seemed to be a neat guy. ALL parts are hand made with a couple of exceptions. If memory serves, the video above has the motor running on alcohol. He even hand made the cams!!!! Amazing.. Brad |
