Hey! I've got a Wing. Great bike and it would surprise you, rode it through the Dragon last year. For distance riding with a passenger there is nothing quite like it. |

Correct. The WRX sedan offers real AWD and 224hp for $24,995. The STi version gets 293hp and even better hardware for $33,495. Even with MacPherson struts up front, it's a nice package. However, if I were picking cars based on their appearance or the crowd they drew, I'd be right there with Rocket on the subie-bashing. |

"My father and his second wife both have brand new Goldwings." "Goldwings attract a boring element of riders" Yep... that's them! |

you can buy for yourself, you can buy to impress others, or both . . . heck, if avoinding gits were a prime decision point for me, I likely wouldn't even HAVE a motorcycle me, I like the rally-capable subs -- if I wanted a car, they'd be high on the list (especially given the post-Easter snow we've gotten this year) ;-} |

My dad bought a Subaru when we lived in Okinawa in the late 60's and early 70's, but his friends weren't very impressed...
Actually, a lot of Americans bought these cheap, 2-stroke powered micro-cars back then. I think he paid $750 for it and sold it 3 1/2 years later for $749. I miss that little car... it was cute like a puppy. |

Imreza's are poor in heavy snow just like most other cars. What you see during rallying is a very narrow trye specifically designed for racing on snow. An Impreza in everyday use would just as easily come to a standstill in snow conditions that would halt most cars. Rocket |

I'm curious. Are Gold Wings some kind of super absorbent sanitary towel? Rocket |

I hate to break it to you but your full of sh1t. Your hating on subaru just to hate.. it appears you had a bad run somewhere down the road and now no matter what you will never have anything good to say about the brand. I guess we all have that towards something.. I live in the midwest and get the pleasure of some nice snow falls. The WRX blew me away in the snow. The STi comes stock w/ some pretty hardcore street tires so they will by default do poor in rain let alone snow but the WRX makes you feel very confident. I don't hate Subaru's actually. I am wary of idiots that seem to drive them though. The majority of them don't bring a darn thing to the joys of motoring. Nearly all bring an exhaust tailpipe the size of a drain pipe and a noise to match the does nothing for performance, but irritates everyone they drive past. Most pose around city centre car parks late at night showing off their latest bit of ICE. They're silly young posers who I don't regard as car enthusiasts at all. I doubt any Impreza owner has ever heard of a boat tail Hispano-Suiza. I'm a car enthusiast and have little to no time for those passing through between puberty and poser value. Anyone can buy an Impreza, but few can build one of these.

That's an early Skyline coupe. Looks like a right hand drive, so I'd assume the picture is taken in Japan, surely not the UK? I love those wheels and they're exactly like I've been searching for for my 1977 TVR. Wow for those wheels! Nice car. The Anglia in the pic is a 1966/7 model. Mine had the 1500 pre-crossflow engine with twin 48 Dellorto's, bored to 1650, using the Lotus Cortina crank and rods etc with 2E gearbox and 3.71 diff. Capri front struts and disc brakes and a 5 link rear axle with Spax adjustables, it went like shit off a shovel and handled like a race car. I miss it. Rocket |

Rocket -- I agree that the whole "Tuner" scene is not particularly drawing to me, and I'll admit I shared your opinion -- but, they are having fun with their rides . . . I can't fault that (it may be that some curmudgeon didn't admire demonstrations of your Anglia's handling prowess . . . ) |

"... but, they are having fun with their rides . . . I can't fault that..." Years ago some friends of mine were complaining about the boom-boom boxed, lowered, wing equipped fart-canned cars and their pimply faced, funny haircut, baggy pantsed ghetto talking drivers. When they asked me about what I thought, I said, "You two sound like a bunch of old men... the same old men we pissed off 30 years ago with our jacked up cars, loud exhaust systems, long hair and Kiss blazing away on the crappy, tweetery stereos we had back then". |

(it may be that some curmudgeon didn't admire demonstrations of your Anglia's handling prowess . . . ) I doubt that very much. It's the difference between taking Nicole Kidman home to meet your mum, or Courtney Love. One's a class act, which could never offend anyone, just gather admirers. Rocket |
