I can't believe more people here don't know about MOTOGP. Only NASCAR. |

Need to hunt down an action shot of Ben Spies (sp). Nickname of "elbows" due to him actuall touching them on the pavement through hot corners |

Ben Spies had an operation to relieve his forearm muscles..he would squeeze and pull so hard on the bars he has bent them during a race...and his arms would fatigue so he had incisions done on his forearms to expand the muscle and relieve the fatigue during a race...I saw it on the old Greg's Garage on Two Wheel tuesday back when Speed Channel was interested in motorcycles...now it is only NASCAR...oh well everyone has an opinion and NASCAR certainly sells advertising...I am as guilty as everyone else...out riding my bike instead of watch hours of Speed programming dedicated to motorcycles, ratings go down, advertising dollars are not there with low market share, no programs left. So I guess to get some programming on the air we have to stay home more and ride less...well that is not gonna happen so I guess no programming..let the couch potatoes have it.. |

I love hearing "rubbing is racing" from a NA$CAR fan. Rubbing on 4 wheels might be entertaining but try rubbing on 2 wheels... now THAT's racing! |

Hey Liquor, Does it count if my Tivo is watching copious hours of speed tv? I wasn't thrilled when bikeweek went to greg's garage, but the show grew on me. You're right, the motorcycle programming thats not racing is crap, in my opinion anyways. Supposedly there is a motorcycle only channel in the works I've read about on the web. Till then I guess we just have to ride |

It counts for my book, but not for the sweeps I am sure, either way video killed the radio star and NASCAR killed two wheel tuesday!! I have also heard and read the rumors of motorcycle TV, I cannot get the NFL network yet, I won't be holding my breath for motorcycle TV although I would watch all of it, tuesday used to be good because it was the repeat day for the races, now all we get is michelle smith (and her bolt on's) then V-Twin TV, although I do like the motocross files very much, at least Greg's garage (not my favorite show) had some cool products and actually talked motorcycle racing!! The only episode I really liked was when he was going to race the BMW boxer cup at Daytona (still my favorite race at that venue, they should bring it back) and his only concern was to finish in front of the girl in the field. That was funny cause she almost caught him. |

Hey, but he doesn't even have his knee on the ground!...JK. Most people don't seem to realize the skill and commitment required to get to that level. I amazed motorcycle road racing isn't more popular here, especially with all the superbike riding wanna-bees. |

Well, the superbike riding wanna-bees probably don't like MOTOGP because it confronts their belief that they are actually good riders. Narcicist don't like being reminded that they're not the best. |

But there is all kinds of motorcycle TV.................if you're a chopper builder kind of person............... and quite a bit of MX........... and a couple of shows about how to crash while doing wheelies and stoppies. But almost none devoted to real motorcycle racing where it isn't just a "show" staged for TV. Personally I enjoy watching the road racing, drag racing, hillclimbs and enduro type of stuff. I'm guessing in one year more TV money goes to building choppers than all of the others together. |

Etennuly, Are you posting from T.W.O., or are you back home? ________________________ I recently took my daughter to the Int'l Motorcycle Show in downtown Atlanta. When we arrived, she was a bit disappointed because it wasn't much of a "show". You see, she thought she was going to get to watch some racing, but instead saw a gigantic motorcycle dealership. The IMS was ok, but she really wanted to see some racing. I am taking her over to the Barber track in April for the AMA superbike races...also one of our neighbors will be in the WERA races there in May... |

Hammer actually Spies is called Elbow's because he rides a Superbike like a Motocross bike. And that would be elbow's up. |

Not at all...if he were riding it like a motocross bike the riding position would look more like this:

If you rode a motocross bike like Spies rides a superbike you'd be on your face in a heartbeat. |

Well I guess I'm wrong then. It was being talked about during race last year. What do they know. But yeah I notice that his elbow's are kinda up at out quite a bit after it was said. |
