Went for a ride today and my 12s was draining fuel out of the overflow tube next to my swingarm. It has never done this before. Not much, about a 1' diameter puddle when I stopped and when I got home. What gives? Ed |

Overfilled? Or may be a bad valve. |

If you fill the tank up to the top it will do that when it get's warm. I tend to overfill the tank each time I fill up and that happens. It's normal. Nothing to worry about. |

Yeah.. Here's what I've gathered from that so far. If I fill my tank all topped off with it sitting straight up, as to maximize the amount of fuel to really get in there, and only drive it a couple of miles to my house of have it just sit for a bit, theres a puddle. If I fill the tank up, with it on the kickstand, so it's at an angle and just go with that fill level.... NO Problems. No puddle. But, If Im going long distances I want to maximize the amount of fuel I can get in there. It's no big deal, though. Just move your bike away from it and light it. You'd be like a traveling fireworks display. Cool show. Mark |

Overfilled - I just did that this week. Do not fill the bike when hot to the top. The fuel will expand and will go out the overflow. |

At what point is the XB overfilled? There are two rings above and below each other just inside the filler cap..Are these markers? Should the full level be like 1 inch below the lower ring? |

I have always filled the bike on its side stand. I only fill it till the fuel just touches the bottom ring. I was curious the first few times so I filled the bike this way and stood it upright. When you do this you see that there is just a small amount of space between the fuel and the bottom ring, room for expansion. |
