Man, I want one! This is the only Harley I've ever desired. I saw one at the Harley display at Daytona and it was love at first sight. Sure ain't cheap, though. I love my 'bolt, but man... http://www.harley-davidson.com/wcm/Content/Pages/2 007_Motorcycles/2007_Motorcycles.jsp?swfsection=fa mily&swffamily=vr&locale=en_US |

I much prefer the Street Rod, but yeah, they're all pretty cool. ~SM |

My step-brother traded his SV650 in for a Night Rod... and then got a huge Harley tattoo within the next week. The bike made a big impression on him... apparently. |

I also like the Street Rod, but the seat's so damn tall. Add the 600+ lbs. weight and you've got a hand-full - or foot-full. I'm a short little $hit, so I prefer the Night Rod Special in that regard. Harley's managed to out-customize all the custom chopper builders, and this scoot really performs. Now, maybe if I sell the family car... Do my kids really need that college savings? Gorgeous looking bike but the riding position is quite tiresome. Yes, I've ridden it. The first thing I would do is change to mid-controls. They should bolt right on as the 'special' has the same pipes as the regular night rod (it has mid-controls). Bret |

Dj.... uh oh, sounds like your step-bro bought into the "lifestyle", don't it? I bought my first Buell in 1998, and after only 100,000 miles, I got a Pegasus tattoo in 2003 at the 20th Anniversary. Does that mean I bought into a "lifestyle", too? (Message edited by crusty on March 16, 2007) |

Do you wash with Buell soap, dry with the Lightning towel and wear man-thongs with "nothing blows like a Cyclone" across the backside? If so, you bought the lifestyle. |

I'm with you Sword, I have always wondered why they didn't black out a Street Rod. |

Road Rods are COOL! I added it to the the "Things to own before I die" list when I saw one last summer. Always liked the V-rod, that just put it (with the Road Rod kit from Cycle Visions) closer to the top of the list. |

I've been spending every spare dime on my S1 since 2001... I like the street rods. Anyone ever see those crazy French dudes that were endurance racing one? Really looked out of place on a road racing grid! It had some pretty serious suspension components, wheels and brakes. Still, too long, low, and portly for me tastes. When I'm done with the S1 she'll be a V-Rod killer. The Destroyer is awesome...in a quarter mile. Damn loud, too. It's a shame ours sits collectin' dust. |

If you think the seating position on the Night Rod Special is bad, sit on one of the new Screamin Eagle V-Rod, the "collector's" model with the big bore kit and the flame paint job. Foward foot controls and a drag bar, the thing feels and steers completely akward. It is the most uncomfortable Harley currently made. |
