I'd love to have a track in my backyard.... 308 acres? Anyone care to donate? Almost makes me want to move back to NJ. |

I'm amazed that the town allowed the road course. The dragstrip has had noise curfews for the last 20 or 30 years. The track used to be the only thing there. Now it's townhouses everywhere. Would be nice to have another east coast race track. SteveH |

jt, oh ya! nice, two new tracks close by. the njms place looks sick, never seen a track that big. you could ride for quite a while without repeating a single turn if you looped it all together. maybe they should call it newjoiserhing and charge per lap, complete with tourist buses as rolling chicanes! ya' now your talkin a real joisey track. just remember, no left turns!!! |

I live about five miles from raceway park and have been going to races there since i can remember. I used to ride my bicycle before i had a license. Every vehicle i have ever owned has made passes down the quarter. Its like home. Both the raceway park road course and NJMSP facility have both been "under construction" for years. the track at E-town was cleared out and paved in late 2003 and progress was promptly halted due to improper and or lack of permits so the story goes. who knew there were rules to building a race track. As the track was being paved, it was apparent that the course was way to close to Pension rd. (like 20 feet from pavement to pavement.) That road is one of two roads that give access to the raceway park facilities. the layout of the track is nice but very compact. It is best suited for carting and motard rather than full scale road racing like VIR or Barber. Still will be cool when its finished. currently they run auto cross, carting, and pocket bikes in the parking lots,(if you have never ridden a real race prepped pocket bike, its a absolute riot). hopefully they will transition to the new road course. If you like going fast and burning gas, theres something for you a Raceway Park. I don't know much about the South Jersey facility. It too has been "under construction" for years, but never seems to go anywhere. According to some people in the know, they havent even broken ground. It has the making of a amazing track if it ever gets built but im not holding my breath...Hope it does get built!! Seth |

As a Long Islander I'm still seething over the fact that they tore down Bridgehampton Racetrack to build ANOTHER stupid golf course! Bridgehampton was a nice track that just needed some resurfacing to make it a real nice course. Mike Baldwin used to teach a racing school at that track. Golf. Sheesh... just goes to prove the graying of our population out here... |
