I've owned 2 buells, so far;a '98 S3-T and a '00 M2. My wife had an '01 Blast. On all three bikes, the oil drain hose had a plastic plug.(or stopper)I have two friends with S3s that have metal plugs. both say it came from the factory that way. one is a '97 in Chelsea, Mass. The other is an '02 in Milwaukee. I just want to know if there really is a mix of plastic and aluminum plugs out there, or are they the exceptions? I'm not talking about switching the stock plug for an aftermarket plug; Did your Tube Frame Buell come with a metal or plastic oil drain hose plug? |

'98 S1W - plastic '00 M2 - plastic I ordered one from Buell for a breather drain project, and it was aluminium, so it went on the S1W and the plastic one went to the project (Message edited by peter on April 29, 2003) |

I sure hope you don't have an oil drain hose on that S-2,Roadthing,cuz I'm kinda partial to those shiny aluminum oil tanks. |

96 S1 - Aluminum 96S2T - Beautiful hand crafted aluminum oil tank w/1/2-20 threaded drain screw. Jim: Buell is run by accountants and lawyers(HD) , so pennies saved per unit ............ bla , bla , I could get into a rant on this topic but would rather do so in private , sharing my dislikes here has gotten me in shit before.
