Only a person in Louisiana could think of this.
From the parish where drunk driving is considered a
Sport, comes this true story. Recently a routine
Police patrol parked outside a bar in Houma ,
Louisiana .
After last call the officer noticed a man leaving the
Bar so intoxicated that he could barely walk.
The man stumbled around the parking lot for a few
Minutes, with the officer quietly observing. After
What seemed an eternity in which he tried his keys
On five different vehicles, the man managed to find
His car and fall in to it. He sat there for a few
Minutes as a number of other patrons left the bar
And drove off. Finally he started the car, switched
The wipers on and off--it was a fine, dry summer
Night--, flicked the blinkers on and off a
Couple of times, honked the horn and then switched on
The lights. He moved the vehicle forward a few inches,
Reversed a little and then remained still
For a few more minutes as some more of the other
Patrons''s vehicles left.
At last, when his was the only car left in the parking
Lot , he pulled out and drove slowly down the road.
The police officer, having waited patiently all this
Time, now started up his patrol car, put on the
Flashing lights, promptly pulled the man over
And administered a breathalyzer test. To his
Amazement, the breathalyzer indicated no evidence that
The man had consumed any alcohol at all!
Dumbfounded, the officer said, "I'll have to ask you
To accompany me to the police station.
This breathalyzer equipment must be broken."
"I doubt it," said the truly proud Coonass.
"Tonight I'm the designated decoy."

Not new. My pledge class tried that in college (University of Kansas) ten years ago. It didn't work very well.

The Lawrence PD are skilled "Hawk Hunters". . . I learned my lessons years ago at the YUK and stumbling down Kentucky.

I sit in the Mass Street Deli or Buffalo Bob's, even these days, I have flash back.

By the way....to fully appreciate how poor my navigational skills were, you have to understand I was attending Kansas State University at the time, not KU.

: )

KU, at that time like the 3rd wealthiest school in the nation, had some REAL cuties!

Court, I don't know where it ranks now, but last time I rode to FreeState Brewery on Mass street, it was a site to see. Great place to do some "people watchin'"

For a while it was outta control. I'm not sure where it came from but at one time KU was like a homing beacon for the well heeled, Miss America lookalikes with a crop of leased (doubtless by Daddy's JoCo company) 3-series BMW's flooding the city just before the semester. I recall hauling all my crap in the back of a Chevy Vega. KU, and Trinity in San Antonio, are the only places I've seen kids arrive at school with professional movers.

If you recall Keif's Audio..the guy who owned it (who I bought my XR-1000 from) used to have parents bidding against each other to get moved to the front of the line to install high-end custom audio in kid's dorm rooms!

One way or another, it's a gorgeous campus and Lawrence is a decidedly unusual microcosm
We stayed at the Eldridge recently and an ol' pal of mine is a Federal Judge. We met her for dinner at Free State and my observation is the same as yours.

My youngest is marrying a young lady he met at KU (they both live in Pasadena now) and she's doubtless one of the most beautiful gals I've ever seen. Funny thing is, she finished her undergrad and MBA with a 4.0. I told her "I thought it was a 2.0 scale!"

I'm SURE I had a better time than her in college.

Court-
Is he the one that was out at Thunder in the Mountains several years ago? I told my daughter that he was a pretty good looking kid, she just said "I'm not marrying a motorcyclist". She didn't either, he's a golfer. Kind of made me feel bad.
