Oh no!! it's all worn out now. ha ha ha! Mine popped its crankcase seal at about 40,000. | ||

I traded in my 2000 M2 at 36,000 miles. Have almost 10K on the replacement (2006 XB12Ss) but before I get home on Sunday, I'll have OVER 100K on the 1999 BMW K1200LT!! Woo hoo! Doesn't matter where it happens, when the odometer rolls over, I'm pulling over to photograph it! | ||

Cool, Rex. Glad your bike is running good. But be sure to change out the drive belt before 86,432 miles. That's when they all break when attempting to wheelie over a speed bump in a school zone. If you ask me how I know that, I'll  Sparky | ||

I think I changed out the belt around 30-35000 miles...rex | ||

When I traded my M2 at 36,000 miles it was still on it's original belt. According to a Buell rep I spoke to at the International Motorcycle Show, under normal use the belt of the 1999-2002 M2 Cyclone should last around 60-66 thousand miles. | ||

I have 42,000 plus on my 1996 S2, that has had an 88" in it since 3,500 miles. I am not saying it has been completely trouble free though, but this build on the top end seems to be holding it's own every well. I just love 88's...it could be the best engine configuration for a Buell. jimidan | ||

How did you keep the speedo working that long? I replaced about 4 of the sensors before I just quit keeping track of the mileage before I sold mine, best guess was I sold it at 35K or so, speedo read about 26K. | ||

I think I have had some very good luck with my 2001 X-1. well over 43000 miles, only prob. have been seals in fork replaced, clutch cable replace rocker box gaskets and 6yr. old battery.I might add that I have rode this bike extra hard. | ||

Yeah, I went through THREE speedo sensors in those 36K miles on the M2 Cyclone... but the odometer says 36K miles, so I'm sticking to it! | ||

Get the upgraded sensor, or just get a cheap aftermarket car cell phone charger that puts out between 5 and 12 volts and waterproof that and wire it inline with the speedo sensor power feed. It's spikes on the line that are killing the sensor, they just need a little regulation. | ||

And the answer is: (drum roll please) the S2 don't need no stinkin' sensors...it has an old fashioned and very accurate cable. I have replaced a couple of those. jimidan |
