Okay here goes, I have finally lost the faith. I have been through hell with this bike and can't do it any more. I started the process to replace the stator and noticed two places that wires were worn through due to vibration, resulting in the loss of the stator. I have seen two posts regarding 05 belt failures. I am sick of it. I will take the first offer over $4,000. The bike runs great and there are no motor or tranny issues. I will include a new stator, a pretty not scratched swing arm and a new/used exhaust can and new steering bearings. I am just sick of messing with it and am going to return to riding rice. 03 xb9r 16,000 miles. perfect bike for someone who like to twist wrenches. |

Hey Blake, I will try to post it up tomorrow afternoon. I have been flying balloons all week and am exhausted. It was the speedo sensor wire and the stator lead. Both very near each other under the sproket cover. |

Why exhausted? Don't they just kinda float up there on their own? I mean, you don't have to flap your arms or anything, do you? rt |

RT The thing about balloons is the getting up very early. I have never been a morning person lol. It is very difficult for me to fall asleep before midnite. Getting less than four hours a night for over a week has worn me out. Court, I understand that it is fixable. I can do the work in an afternoon. It is the getting whacked another few hundred to fix what I percieve to be a problem with the routing of the wiring. It is very clear that the wires were smashed up against what I think is an oil line. The resulting vibes wore through a completly unprotected area of insulation. When I redo the wires I will add some type of additional protection, as should have been done by the factory.................. Please tell EB that I do not hold him personaly responsable for my woes. I truly think that the mothership is the reason for my MANY issues remaining unresolved. I called from Skip Fordyce about my wheel bearing issue last week and again was told that my bike did not qualify. This as we both know is total B.S. I have tried about as hard as anyone to stick by this bike and the Buell brand. After a point I have only myself to blame for the frustration. I sold my old been down twice three year old CBR600 for 3,400 with 69,000 miles and a tranny that was just starting to drop second gear in two weeks flat. I cant seem to even dump this bike for 4,000 at 16,000 miles. I know you are a super guru and very connected with the factory and have nothing but respect for you. However, even with your super powers I seriously doubt that I will ever recover any of the money I have spent so far. This is sad because no one wants me to ride a Buell more than I do. I love "being different" and riding something most folks do not. I am starting to understand why most folks do not though.................. Regardless of whether or not you can actually help me I will still buy you a beer should our paths ever cross. |

Angel, That was funny! I could not ride a wheelie 20 feet even if Erik Buell himself was standing there offering me a new bike when I did it. |
